Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, 49 years old, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, has been transferred and appointed by the Politburo to the position of Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department.
Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung presented the Politburo's decision to Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu on the afternoon of January 17th in Can Tho City.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, born in 1976 in Binh Dinh province, holds a Master's degree in Educational Management, a Bachelor's degree in Law, and a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration. In January 2016, he was elected as an alternate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party.
Prior to that, he served as Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Secretary of the District Party Committee of District 2; Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee and Secretary of the District Party Committee of District 5 from May 2020 to January 2021.
From January 2021, he was appointed Secretary of the Thu Duc City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. In June 2022, he held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
Since May 2023, Mr. Hieu has held the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, a position he holds to this day.
