BIDV pays tribute to People's Armed Forces Hero Pham Ngoc Thao

The ceremony was attended by Comrade Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Standing member of the 14th Party Congress Document Subcommittee; Comrade Ho Thi Hoang Yen - Standing Deputy Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee; Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Loi - Party Committee Secretary, Political Commissar of General Department II, Ministry of National Defense ; Comrade Lai Tien Quan - Deputy General Director of BIDV; Leaders of units and representatives of the family of Colonel, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Martyr Pham Ngoc Thao and all the people.

The event was held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's Defense Intelligence Day (October 25, 1945 - October 25, 2025) - a sacred milestone with special significance for the Defense Intelligence force and the people of the whole country.

Brother 01 — *Delegates performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the Memorial House of Colonel, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Martyr Pham Ngoc Thao.*

Vinh Long province is a loyal land, the birthplace of many outstanding people who have contributed to the glorious history of the Vietnamese nation; this is also the homeland of Colonel, Hero of the People's Armed Forces (LLVTND, Martyr Pham Ngoc Thao. He is a symbol of loyalty, intelligence and bravery, an immortal heroic epic of absolute faith in the Party, in the people and the ideal of independence and freedom of the Fatherland. His life is a testament to the passionate patriotism, the silent sacrifice and intelligence of a Vietnamese revolutionary intelligence soldier.

In order to honor the great contributions of national heroes and spread the traditional morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", since the end of 2024, BIDV has sponsored the construction of a Memorial House for Colonel, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Martyr Pham Ngoc Thao in An Hoi ward, Vinh Long province.

In the solemn and emotional atmosphere of the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee said: The Memorial House of Colonel, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Martyr Pham Ngoc Thao is a symbol of gratitude, a source of pride for the Party Committee, government and people of Vinh Long province. The project not only has special cultural and historical values, but is also a place to preserve, honor and spread the immortal values of Vietnamese revolutionary heroism. The comrade sincerely thanked the General Department II (Ministry of National Defense) and BIDV for accompanying the province in the process of implementing the project, affirming that this is a vivid demonstration of the spirit of social responsibility, affection and good ethics of the units towards the community.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Loi - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of General Department II, Ministry of National Defense, affirmed: The memorial house of Colonel, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Martyr Pham Ngoc Thao is a project of profound political, historical and humanistic significance, expressing the gratitude of today's generations to the loyal intelligence soldier, the immortal hero of the nation. The memorial house not only has the meaning of remembrance and gratitude, but is also a place to arouse the tradition of patriotism, strengthen the political mettle, fighting will and revolutionary spirit of officers and soldiers in the entire army. The birth of the project also contributes to preserving and spreading the spiritual values of the National Defense Intelligence force - the force that has silently devoted and sacrificed to protect the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.
