Major Ho Van Ha, Political Officer of the Cua Sot Border Guard Station (Ha Tinh Border Guard Command), said that the unit had successfully rescued a fishing boat and two fishermen who were in distress in the waters bordering Loc Ha and Nghi Xuan districts.
Border Guard and rescue support forces are assisting in the rescue of the sunken vessel.
Accordingly, at 12:20 PM, the Cua Sot Border Guard Station ( thuộc Cua Sot Border Guard Post) received a report that the fishing boat of Mr. Tran Minh Duc (born in 1975) from Long Hai village, Thach Kim commune, had suffered engine failure and was sunk by waves while fishing in the Dong Ken estuary (bordering Loc Ha and Nghi Xuan). The boat was 1 nautical mile from shore, with the owner and his son, Tran Minh Quan (born in 2004), on board.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Cua Sot Border Guard Station dispatched 10 officers and soldiers, 2 vessels, and the assistance of local fishermen to the rescue. Thanks to the timely rescue efforts, the safety of all personnel was ensured, and the sunken fishing boat was towed back to Cua Sot fishing port after more than 3 hours.
Currently, the Border Guard and local authorities are meeting with and encouraging the owner of the distressed vessel, as well as estimating the damage and providing assistance in overcoming the consequences.
