Praising good people and good deeds among Catholics

On September 11, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics held the 6th National Emulation Congress to commend good people and good deeds among Catholics, period 2020-2025.

Mr. Do Van Chien, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, delivered a directive speech at the congress.

The Congress is an opportunity to share good experiences and effective methods; to honor and replicate advanced models; to encourage and motivate Catholic compatriots to continue to uphold the tradition of unity, patriotism, reverence for God, and existing humanistic values ​​and fine traditions; to be active and exemplary in labor and production emulation, building a cultural life, contributing to building a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized country, and moving forward into a new era.

Over the past five years, the emulation movement "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, and live a good and virtuous life," linked to the eight contents launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee, has achieved more practical results with profound political, economic , cultural, and social significance. The concrete actions of Catholic compatriots are vivid evidence of their patriotism and tradition of solidarity and close cooperation with the nation, effectively implementing the nine contents of the emulation movement launched at the 5th Emulation Conference, 2015-2020.

Attending and giving a directive speech at the Congress, Comrade Do Van Chien, Member of the Political Bureau , Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, expressed his belief that the patriotic emulation movement among Catholic compatriots will continue to develop even more strongly and widely, becoming increasingly profound and blossoming into thousands of good people and good deeds in the colorful garden of the Vietnamese nation.

Comrade Do Van Chien proposed that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee and Catholic compatriots nationwide should unite their efforts to safeguard independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity; seize opportunities and advantages, overcome all difficulties and challenges, develop the economy rapidly and sustainably, build a prosperous and strong country, ensure the happiness of the people, and substantially improve the material and spiritual lives of the people.

On this occasion, Comrade Do Van Chien also requested that Party committees, government agencies, the Fatherland Front, political and social organizations, and mass associations coordinate more closely and create favorable conditions for the patriotic emulation movement among Catholic compatriots and the activities of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee to develop more strongly and effectively.

At the congress, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals in recognition and commendation of outstanding achievements in implementing patriotic emulation movements among Catholic compatriots during the period 2020 - 2025.
