(Dan Tri Newspaper) - According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security , the police have not yet received any complaints from parties regarding rumors that ACB Bank leaders were involved in "gambling and transferring tens of millions of USD abroad".
At the government press conference on the afternoon of January 8th, Major General Hoang Anh Tuyen, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, answered questions regarding the handling of the case involving the spread of false rumors aboutACB Bank's leadership.
Assessing the overall situation, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Security stated that the current spread of false information, even slander and distortion, on social media is a worrying phenomenon. From a social ethics perspective, Mr. Tuyen noted that this represents a decline in morality in various forms, such as spreading false accusations, fabrications, and slander.
Legally, a representative from the Ministry of Public Security affirmed that these actions could be punishable by fines or imprisonment.

"When we receive complaints, we will consider and handle them according to the law," Mr. Tuyen said.
Regarding how to address this situation, he believes it's necessary to educate internet users on ethics so they behave more civilly and honestly.
Mr. Tuyen also stated that the Ministry of Public Security has been gathering information and monitoring the situation regarding the dissemination of false and defamatory information on the internet in order to propose appropriate measures for handling it.

Earlier on January 4th, Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) issued a statement refuting false information alleging that senior bank executives gambled and transferred tens of millions of USD abroad. This false information appeared on social media and was livestreamed by some individuals on various platforms.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACB Bank is Mr. Tran Hung Huy (born in 1978). Mr. Huy is the son of businessman Tran Mong Hung - one of the founders and a long-time Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACB.

In particular, false information risks causing public unrest and confusion, negatively impacting the financial and monetary security of the finance and banking sector in Vietnam.
ACB Bank stated that it has collected all content that posted and disseminated false information in accordance with legal procedures to report the matter to the relevant authorities for appropriate legal action. Mr. Tran Hung Huy, Chairman of ACB, also shared the bank's official statement regarding the incident on his personal social media page.
"As a leading bank in risk management, ACB always affirms transparency, safety, and high responsibility in all its activities to ensure the rights of customers, shareholders, and partners," the ACB Bank press release stated.
