Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training received a report from Hue University regarding the resolution of the complaint filed by Mr. NTAP (residing in Hue City); and also recommended that the Ministry establish a council to evaluate the content of the doctoral dissertation of Dr. LTAH.

After reviewing the conclusions of the investigation into the complaint filed by the Director of Hue University, the Ministry of Education and Training requested the university to re-evaluate the content of Ms. LTAH's dissertation, and subsequently determine the appropriate disciplinary action against this doctor.

"In the event that the dissertation no longer meets the requirements of a doctoral dissertation, Hue University needs to consider the responsibility of the committee that approved Ms. LTAH's dissertation," the official document stated.

The Ministry of Education and Training requests Hue University to implement the above directive and report back to the competent authority before January 31, 2025.

According to an investigation by Dan Tri reporters , in mid-July, Hue University received a complaint from Mr. NTAP, accusing Ms. LTAH, who works at the Hue Ancient Citadel Conservation Center, of plagiarism and misuse of historical sources in her doctoral dissertation.

The dissertation in question, titled "History of Vietnam: The Formation, Development, and Transformation of Royal Court Festivals in Hue from 1802 to 1945 ," was defended at the Doctoral Dissertation Defense Council of Hue University on March 23, 2018.

After verification, Hue University concluded that Mr. P.'s complaint was true. Ms. H.'s doctoral dissertation contained many sections and ideas that were similar to published works by other authors, but the author did not cite the sources.

Accordingly, the plagiarism in Ms. H.'s dissertation was determined to be 12 pages. The author also made errors in historical sources.
