Establishment of the Faculty of Medical Technology under Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy

GD&TĐ - On the morning of December 4, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy held a ceremony to announce the Resolution to establish the Faculty of Medical Technology.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Hue City People's Committee; Hue University; Departments, branches and sectors of Hue City; the collective leadership and key staff of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University (Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy); all officials, employees and representatives of students of Hue Medical College (old).

Previously, on October 23, 2025, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 2346/QD-TTg on merging Hue Medical College (under the People's Committee of Hue City) into Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Following the Government's policy, on November 14, the Council of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy for the 2025-2030 term issued Resolution No. 28/NQ-HDT on the establishment of the Faculty of Medical Technology.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy, Rector of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, delivered a congratulatory speech at the ceremony.

The Faculty of Medical Technology includes: Department of Nursing, Department of Pharmacy, Department of Laboratory Technology and Department of Basic Sciences on the basis of inheriting all functions and tasks of the corresponding specialized departments from Hue Medical College according to the Merger Project, ensuring compliance with current legal regulations, the Organization and Operation Regulations of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and other relevant legal regulations.

Within the framework of the ceremony, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy announced and awarded the Decisions to appoint 17 management staff and assign professional titles to the staff after merging Hue Medical College into Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. In which, MSc. Le Thi Phuong Nhi was appointed to the position of Head of the Faculty of Medical Technology.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy, Rector of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, said that the consolidation of leadership and professional personnel aims to ensure organizational stability, promote the capacity of the team, and at the same time meet the requirements of management, teaching and training in the new development stage of the school. This is an important step for the Faculty of Medical Technology and related units to soon operate effectively and consistently according to the general model of the school.
