During the inspection, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy requested the city leaders to mobilize human resources, machinery, and vehicles to relocate households in areas at risk of landslides to safe places. He requested businesses with excavators to coordinate with the city government to handle landslides to ensure people's safety.
Minister Do Duc Duy also asked people in this area to proactively evacuate, prioritize protecting life safety, support families in distress, whose houses have collapsed, or have to be evacuated, and share with the authorities to focus on providing relief to areas in urgent need first.
Inspecting the landslide and house collapse situation at Group 10 and Kim Dong Street in Minh Tan Ward, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy requested the city to ensure safety for people, clean up areas where water recedes, and suggest increasing the capacity of the water plant to have water for people to clean their houses.
In Hong Ha ward and Tuy Loc commune, through the situation, it was found that the Red River water had receded. He requested the police and military forces to concentrate their forces to support people in cleaning up with the spirit of cleaning up as the water receded. If necessary, mobilize militia and self-defense forces from other districts to support. Especially in isolated areas, mobilize small boats from other places to support people with food, water and drinking water in a timely manner.
Reporting at the meeting with the Minister, the leaders of Yen Bai city said that they had mobilized about 1,000 military and police forces to help people overcome the consequences. The Minister commented that in the coming days, the volume of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters will be very large, the city needs to focus on rescue work, immediately move people in dangerous places to safe places and not allow those who have moved from dangerous places to return when safety is not guaranteed; take good care of the funeral of the deceased, focus on treating the injured and pay attention to supporting the families that suffered losses.
At the same time, properly coordinate support and aid resources; restore and ensure essential services including electricity, water and communication; clean up landslides, environmental sanitation, and disease prevention, especially in public places such as schools and medical stations. Take care of people's health; restore infrastructure systems such as drainage systems and agency headquarters; handle landslides to ensure safety; count damage and support the restoration of agricultural production, flexibly convert the structure of suitable crop varieties.
Minister Do Duc Duy requested the city to focus on ensuring security, safety, and social welfare; and bring life back to normal as soon as possible. There should be plans to support people and ensure safe housing, and arrange resettlement for people forced to move out of dangerous areas.
