Minister Dang Quoc Khanh visited and worked with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Dien Bien province.

The working delegation of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment included comrades: Pham Tan Tuyen, Chief of the Ministry's Office; Dang Ngoc Diep, Director of the Department of Planning and Finance; Doan Thi Thanh My, Director of the Department of Land; Nguyen Hung Thinh, Director of the Department of Environment; Nguyen Truong Giang, Director of the Vietnam Minerals Department; Chau Tran Vinh, Director of the Department of Water Resources Management; Nguyen Tien Duy, Deputy Chief of the Office of the Personnel Committee, Secretary of the Minister.

Receiving the delegation, on the side of Dien Bien province, there were comrades: Pham Duc Toan - Permanent Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee; Vu Ngoc Vuong, Director of Dien Bien Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Deputy Directors of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Dang Nam, Tran Thi Thanh Phuong and all officers, civil servants and employees of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Dien Bien province.

Reporting at the working session, Mr. Vu Ngoc Vuong, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Dien Bien informed the working delegation about the direction and tasks for 2024. Accordingly, the Department's tasks will be to strengthen State management of land, especially land use planning and plans; complete the 5-year land use plan 2021-2025 of Dien Bien province for appraisal and approval according to regulations; Focus on promoting the implementation and completion of site clearance projects according to the planning for urban area development to generate revenue from land. Strengthen management of rational and effective exploitation and use of mineral resources; organize auctions of mineral exploitation rights for soil and sand mines according to the approved Plan; Continue to disseminate andeducate on the implementation of the Law on Environmental Protection (amended) and documents guiding its implementation. Strengthen inspection and control activities of state management of land, thoroughly resolve existing problems in land management and use of agencies and units in the province.

Continue to focus on directing the implementation of land inventory and building a map of current land use status in 2024; propaganda and dissemination of the Land Law (amended); surveying and mapping cadastral work, building a database on land in the province.

Also at the meeting, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Dien Bien also proposed that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment provide guidance on land use planning and plans; surveying and mapping, establishing cadastral records; environmental and mineral management to remove current difficulties.

Speaking at the meeting, informing the staff of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Dien Bien about the management of natural resources and environment of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in the current context and new trends. Minister Dang Quoc Khanh emphasized the importance of management in the field of natural resources and environment, and at the same time requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to continue to promote the achieved results, well perform the tasks and goals set by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment in 2024.

In addition, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh said that the two Laws on Water Resources (amended) and Land (amended) have recently been passed by the National Assembly. The Minister requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to proactively advise the Provincial People's Committee on land and water resources management in particular and the field of natural resources and environment in general. In addition, continue to accompany the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in participating in the development of the Law on Geology and Minerals to gain more voice and experience in management as well as practical difficulties in the province.
