On October 5, in Vung Tau city, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command coordinated with 14 secondary schools in Xuyen Moc district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to launch the contest "I love my homeland's sea and islands" online. Colonel Cao Xuan Quan - Deputy Political Commissar, Head of the Organizing Committee chaired the launch.

The contest “I love my homeland’s sea and islands” aims to widely disseminate knowledge about Vietnam’s sea and islands, the Vietnam People’s Army and the Coast Guard; regulations of Vietnamese law and relevant international treaties on sea and islands; the traditional history of building and defending the country of the nation and localities, etc.

The official competition takes place from 9:30 a.m. on October 5, 2023 to October 13, 2023 and is divided into 2 rounds: Round 1 starts from October 5, 2023 to October 10, 2023; Round 2 starts from October 11, 2023 to October 13, 2023 on the Myaloha website. At the end of the rounds, the Organizing Committee will award 10 collective prizes and 20 individual prizes to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing and participating in the Competition.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Colonel Cao Xuan Quan believed that the Contest "I love the sea and islands of my homeland" would receive the active response and participation of students, friends, relatives and families in Xuyen Moc district; create a wide social impact, leaving a good impression of a healthy, useful, effective and practical playground. He requested the Board of Directors of schools, teachers to direct the organization, disseminate the rules closely; focus on information, mobilize, encourage and create conditions for students to actively respond to and participate in the Contest. He requested members of the Organizing Committee of the Contest to regularly monitor, urge and advise on the implementation of activities, ensuring that the Contest is carried out accurately, objectively and fairly.
