With the most modern technique in colonoscopy, called NOSE, which stands for Natural Orifice Specimen Extraction, patients recover faster and with less pain.

New advances in minimally invasive colorectal surgery
Classic colon surgery technique and NOSE technique
With the classic colon resection technique, the incision is usually about 15-20cm long, to be able to access the entire colon and abdomen. Later, thanks to advances in laparoscopic techniques, laparoscopic colorectal surgery became more and more popular, safe with small incisions of about 4-6cm. However, with the NOSE technique, there is almost no scar left. Accordingly, the colon section that needs to be removed will be brought through the anus. The incision is then only 0.5cm to 1.2cm, similar to laparoscopic surgery to remove the appendix and gallbladder.
Benefits of the NOSE technique
NOSE technique creates extremely small scars, so there is very little pain, quick recovery, minimizes the risk of wound infection and maintains the patient's aesthetics. NOSE surgery has good results equivalent to conventional endoscopic surgery.
“We select patients for the NOSE technique to achieve the best results, safety and high aesthetics. This is the most modern laparoscopic surgery technique today,” said Mr Teoh Tiong Ann, colorectal surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
For colorectal cancer patients, surgery is the essential treatment method today. NOSE technique can be applied to patients with benign colorectal pathology, left-sided colorectal cancer and small cancers in the early stage. NOSE technique equips us with more weapons in the fight against colorectal cancer. While still reducing the damage and pain caused by surgery to the patient.

The hospitals of Parkway Singapore Healthcare Group are always at the forefront of improving the quality of services for patients, applying the most advanced techniques in the world in examination and treatment. Currently, Parkway is operating 4 hospitals in Singapore: Mount Elizabeth Orchard Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena, Gleneagles and Parkway East. Of which, Mount Elizabeth is the hospital that many Vietnamese patients trust and use health care services for many years.
In addition, Parkway also has a network of more than 35 representative offices in many countries around the world . With the purpose of supporting and consulting patients in different countries seeking high-quality medical services in Singapore, the representative offices are considered a bridge between patients and doctors. This helps to remove language and cultural barriers that international patients often encounter when coming to Singapore for treatment.
Not only that, Parkway Representative Offices always focus on improving patient benefits, supporting patients right from the first steps such as: finding information about the disease, information about treating doctors in Singapore, estimating treatment costs, arranging interpreters to support at the clinic, helping patients book accommodation for convenience in traveling for medical examination and treatment. This process seems extremely simple but is a barrier that hinders patients when they intend to go abroad for treatment, especially Singapore. Therefore, patients can be completely assured when receiving free consultation and support from Parkway Singapore representative offices.
