The event was attended by leaders from central ministries and departments; units under the Ministry of National Defense ; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, veteran revolutionaries; leaders and former leaders of Ca Mau province; a delegation from Ninh Binh province; and a large number of local people.
85 years ago, under the guidance of the Communist Party of Vietnam , Party organizations and revolutionary mass movements in Ca Mau were formed and developed strongly, opening a new page in the history of the revolutionary movement in the province. In particular, the Hon Khoai uprising in 1940 - part of the Southern Uprising movement - is forever a shining symbol of courage, patriotism and the desire for national independence.

The uprising, led by comrade Phan Ngoc Hien, took place on the night of December 13, 1940, with profound significance, marking a great step forward in terms of politics, ideology and organization of the Party Committee of Bac Lieu province (now Ca Mau). The resounding victory of the uprising was thanks to careful preparation, along with the proactive, flexible spirit and courage of the revolutionary soldiers.
Although the Hon Khoai Uprising was brutally suppressed by the enemy, and Comrade Phan Ngoc Hien and nine other comrades who participated in the uprising bravely sacrificed their lives, the uprising and the names of the heroic martyrs have gone down in history, becoming an immortal source of pride. The Hon Khoai Uprising is an epic of indomitable will, a resounding declaration of "We would rather sacrifice ourselves than be enslaved" of our nation, and will forever be recorded in history. And, December 13th has become the annual revolutionary tradition day of the heroic Party Committee, army, and people of Ca Mau.

Speaking at the conference, Ca Mau Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai affirmed that 85 years ago, Hon Khoai and the 10 martyrs of the uprising became a guiding light for the revolutionary struggle. Today, Hon Khoai is once again called upon by the Fatherland, receiving a new mission to build "the nation's standing on the vast ocean" and to pave the way for Vietnam's future.
Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai expressed confidence that, with its glorious revolutionary tradition and the unity, courage, and creativity of the entire Party Committee, Ca Mau will continue to innovate its thinking, methods, and actions decisively and effectively, fostering a spirit of daring to think, daring to act, and daring to take responsibility. It will certainly break through and rise strongly in the new era, worthy of the sacrifices of previous generations, the trust of the Central Government, and the expectations of the people.
