Professor Nguyen Lan Dung emphasized that personalization, soft skills development, innovative teaching methods, increased application of technology, creating an open learning environment, comprehensive competency assessment, and investment in education are important factors that need to be considered in today's era.

According to him, what are the biggest opportunities for learning and development for today's young generation in the digital age?

The digital age provides young people with access to a wealth of free and paid online learning resources, from online courses and video lectures to e-books and global academic communities. This allows them to not only acquire specialized knowledge but also explore new fields.

Digital technology makes it easy for students to connect with learners, experts, and instructors all over the world. Social media platforms, academic forums, and online conferences open up opportunities for interaction, learning from experience, and developing international networks.

With the rapid development of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and big data analytics, the younger generation has the opportunity to learn and develop advanced digital skills. These skills not only help them work more efficiently but also open up career opportunities in new and promising fields.

The digital age facilitates flexible learning for young people, through online learning, mobile app learning, and learning via other technology platforms.

At the same time, digital technology reduces barriers to entrepreneurship, from creating websites to developing technology products. Young people can leverage creative tools and startup support platforms to realize their ideas and start businesses, thereby building their own careers.

New technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are being widely applied in education. These technologies not only make learning more engaging but also enhance learning effectiveness through interactivity and vividness. These opportunities allow the younger generation to not only acquire knowledge but also develop comprehensive skills and seek new opportunities in work and life.

What challenges does the digital age present to education and the development of skills in the younger generation?

The digital age presents many opportunities for development but also numerous challenges for education and the skill development of the younger generation. Specifically, technology and the internet have blurred the lines between learning and entertainment. Children are easily distracted and struggle to concentrate on their studies when there are so many attractive entertainment options online. The rapid development of technology can lead to students becoming dependent on electronic devices, resulting in a lack of independent problem-solving skills or critical thinking.

In addition, these children face difficulties in developing social skills. Online learning and communication primarily through screens can limit the development of communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to perceive body language.

Although the younger generation is quite proficient in using technology, many of them lack sufficient knowledge and skills regarding cybersecurity, privacy protection, or how to distinguish between accurate and fake information on the Internet.

How can these children overcome these difficulties, sir?

To overcome these difficulties and challenges, I believe students need to develop self-disciplined study habits. They should develop time management skills and self-learning abilities through online educational platforms. Education needs to help students cultivate the habit of independent research and distinguish between valuable knowledge and unofficial information. Schools should incorporate subjects on social skills, communication skills, and teamwork into the curriculum so that students can more fully develop their soft skills.

"In the context of ever-evolving technology, education needs to adapt to help the younger generation maximize their potential."

Furthermore, it is essential to strengthen education on cybersecurity. Parents and teachers need to help children understand the dangers of the online world and equip them with information security skills and ways to protect their privacy. Creating opportunities for students to learn through a combination of in-person and online learning will help them leverage the advantages of both formats for holistic development.

Encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities, research projects, or hands-on experiences to enhance their creativity and critical thinking skills. By combining specialized knowledge with soft skills development, the younger generation can overcome the challenges of the digital age and succeed in an increasingly digitized world.

Technology has changed the way we approach education. What are your thoughts on the younger generation's ability to adapt to these new learning methods?

Technology has been creating major changes in how we approach education, bringing both opportunities and challenges. Younger generations often adapt very quickly to these new learning methods because they grew up in a digital environment, becoming familiar with using digital devices and online platforms from a young age.

This is evident in online learning, learning apps, and even the use of AI to personalize learning paths. Younger generations are able to use these tools to access knowledge anytime, anywhere, optimizing study time and easily absorbing information from various sources.

While adapting easily, not all young people possess the ability to manage their time and maintain high levels of concentration in an online learning environment lacking direct supervision. Therefore, guidance and support from teachers and parents are crucial to help them maximize the benefits of technology. In practice, while young people can adapt quickly to new learning methods, support from their surroundings remains vital for more effective learning.

What skills, from your perspective, do young people need to acquire in order to thrive and succeed sustainably in today's digital environment?

In today's digital environment, young people need to equip themselves with several important skills to achieve sustainable development and success. Understanding and the ability to use information technology tools, software, and applications is a crucial foundation. They need to master basic knowledge of the Internet, network security, data analysis, and digital tools.

The ability to solve problems creatively and effectively will help them adapt to rapid changes, improve processes, and come up with new solutions. Communication and teamwork through digital platforms are becoming increasingly common. Online communication skills, especially in a multinational work environment, are crucial for effective collaboration and work.

The digital environment is constantly changing, so the younger generation needs creativity to develop new ideas, as well as innovation to solve complex problems. With the rapid pace of technological change, continuous learning and updating of knowledge is essential to maintaining competitiveness and career advancement.

Critical thinking skills help young people analyze information, make accurate assessments, and make informed decisions in a digital environment rife with fake and inaccurate information. In addition, skills such as time management and self-management, information security, data management, and the ability to adapt to change are also extremely important.

Ultimately, in a constantly changing digital world, the ability to adapt quickly and flexibly to new technologies and trends is crucial. These skills not only help the younger generation advance their careers but also contribute to sustainable development in a digital society, enabling them to maintain a competitive edge and create new opportunities in the future.

In the future, as technology continues to advance, what adjustments does education need to make to help the younger generation maximize their potential, Professor?

In my opinion, in the context of ever-evolving technology, education plays a crucial role in shaping the future of the younger generation. To help them reach their full potential, the education sector needs profound and comprehensive adjustments.

Create opportunities for students to participate in real-world projects and activities, connecting knowledge with life. Utilize online tools and games to increase interaction and engagement in learning. Create a learning environment where students feel safe, respected, and encouraged. Inspire students, helping them discover their passions and potential. Ensure students can interact and learn from those around them.

To enable the younger generation to reach their full potential, the education sector needs revolutionary changes. Synchronized coordination between schools, families, and society is key to achieving this goal. As technology advances, education will require significant adjustments to help young people maximize their potential.

One crucial issue is the application of technology in teaching. Teachers and students need to use technology to support learning. The use of online learning tools, 3D simulations, and artificial intelligence (AI) will help students understand lessons better, as well as create more flexible learning opportunities, regardless of time and location.

In a rapidly changing world, learning should not be confined to school but should be a lifelong endeavor. Educational programs need to encourage students to develop self-learning skills, creativity, and the ability to adapt to changes in the workplace and society.

Beyond specialized knowledge, soft skills such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities need to be emphasized more in the curriculum. These skills are crucial for students to succeed in the modern workplace, where skills like collaboration and creativity are increasingly important.

Furthermore, education needs to create an environment that encourages students to ask questions and constantly explore and innovate. Traditional educational methods may no longer be entirely suitable; therefore, more active learning methods, where students are at the center, should be encouraged.

Each student has unique abilities and interests; therefore, education needs to be flexible and personalized to meet the learning needs of each individual. Technological tools can help create customized learning programs for each student, allowing them to learn at a pace and in a way that suits them.

To ensure students develop practical skills, collaboration with organizations and businesses is crucial. Internship programs and hands-on learning experiences will help students better understand the needs of the labor market and better prepare them for future careers.

In summary, to help the younger generation reach their full potential in the future, education needs to integrate technology, focus on developing soft skills, encourage creativity, and promote lifelong learning. Adjusting education in this direction will not only better prepare students for the future but also contribute to a more sustainable societal development.

Thank you, Professor!
