Many readers have sent feedback supporting the approach of Truong Chinh High School (HCMC), and at the same time requested that state management agencies soon have specific regulations for uniform implementation in schools.
Below are some notable responses and comments from Tuoi Tre readers.
* Truong Chinh High School's approach is very good and suitable for the current situation of students addicted to phones and social networks. I hope the Departmentof Education and Training will promptly make a decision to not allow students in the whole city to use phones like Truong Chinh High School. (Anh Vu)
* Enthusiastically support the regulations of Truong Chinh High School. From this school, we unanimously expand to all levels of education in the city. Hopefully the whole country will also completely ban students from using phones. (thie****@gmail.com)
* So great! School is a place to learn, not a place for entertainment, chatting, etc. Support the ban! (Phong Le)
* I support the ban on students using cell phones in schools, except in emergencies. But the Government and the Ministry of Education and Training must have a unified policy and regulations for the whole country. Parents must also be responsible for educating their children to follow this. (Nguyen Ha)
* I fully support it. When you have a phone, you don't care who's around. It needs to be expanded like many countries do now. It also needs to be banned in universities. Teachers can lecture but students can't hear anything while holding their phones. (Hung Vuong)
* Banning students from using cell phones in school is a temporary solution, but it is a good idea, it is scientific and humane. I absolutely support this point of view. The Ministry of Education and Training should pay attention and make specific decisions so that schools have a basis to implement it more seriously. (Pham Van Cuong)
* I support and wish to implement this nationwide from October 1st, so that students can focus on studying, listen to teachers, and absorb lessons better. (Son)
* Only smartphones should be banned, regular phones and watch phones should be allowed to keep in touch with family. (Thanh Hieu)
* For the future of the young generation, for the future of the country, I suggest that the State should have a policy to limit online games by time frame. Nowadays, not only young people but also adults play and are addicted to games a lot, leading to a decline in learning and working efficiency, even game addiction leading to divorce, affecting children. (Ba Phi)
"Nowadays, parents cannot help but buy smartphones for their children. At home, we cannot control our children" - how can any school stand this kind of thinking? Remember, the main thing of the school is to teach, not to manage students' phones in school.

Control rather than ban?
Most readers agree with the solution of banning phones in schools, but there are also some opinions that the phone is not at fault, but the problem lies in how the phone is used.
"It's not good to ban it! Students still use phones in school. The important thing is education, limiting the harmful effects of using phones too much" - reader Thanh commented.
Another reader emphasized: "Students are only not allowed to use phones during class, don't overdo it mechanically. Everyone needs a phone now, students also need it to contact their parents."
