Storm No. 10 has caused serious damage in many provinces in the Central and Northwestern regions. Many areas were deeply flooded and suffered serious landslides; hundreds of houses and properties were swept away or severely damaged; production activities were disrupted; people's lives fell into a state of deprivation and hardship.
In order to share the difficulties and losses of the people and localities heavily affected by storm No. 10, on the afternoon of October 3, the Ministry of Finance organized a fundraising launching ceremony at the Ministry's headquarters. The event was attended by Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang, Deputy Ministers, leaders of units under and affiliated to the Ministry, and representatives of organizations and unions in the industry.
Right at the launching ceremony, the collective of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry of Finance responded positively, donating about 1.5 billion VND to send to people in disaster areas. This is a practical source of encouragement, adding strength to help people overcome difficulties soon.
The Ministry of Finance promotes the tradition of solidarity and the spirit of "mutual love", calling on all officials in the sector to join hands to support the people. The representative of the Ministry of Finance emphasized: Every sharing, no matter how small, has great significance, demonstrating the social responsibility and spirit of serving the people of the Finance sector officials.
On this occasion, the Ministry Office also requested units under and directly under the Ministry of Finance, mass organizations in the industry to proactively launch donations in appropriate forms; ensuring practicality, efficiency, publicity, transparency and transferring to the right subjects and purposes in the soonest time.

Also on October 3, the State Audit Office quickly launched a program to support people in flood-hit areas. Party Secretary, State Auditor General Ngo Van Tuan, leaders of the State Audit Office and staff attended the donation ceremony and expressed their deep sympathy for the losses that the people are suffering.
At the donation ceremony, Chief of the Party Committee Office Nguyen Manh Cuong, authorized by the State Auditor General, called on all cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees of the State Audit to promote the spirit of solidarity and join hands to share difficulties. He emphasized that both spiritual and material support will contribute to helping people soon restore production and stabilize their lives.
The Party Committee and the State Audit leaders also called on each cadre, civil servant, public employee and worker, in addition to directly supporting at the hall, to contribute at least one day's salary to send to people in flood-hit areas. This is a practical action, clearly demonstrating social responsibility and humanitarian spirit.
As a result, the State Audit Office raised nearly VND1.1 billion at the ceremony. This amount, together with the contribution from the Ministry of Finance, raised the total amount of donations from the two units to more than VND2.6 billion.
