On the afternoon of October 25th, during a visit and working session with Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, Dr. Lam Nhan Minh Dinh, a specialist in internal medicine, informed that Vinmec Can Tho International General Hospital, with a total investment of 2,349 billion VND, is expected to begin operations at the end of the fourth quarter of 2024, contributing to improving the quality of healthcare services in the Mekong Delta region.
Vinmec Can Tho International General Hospital is expected to begin operations at the end of the fourth quarter of 2024.
The project, invested by Vinmec International General Hospital Joint Stock Company, is being implemented at 150A 3rd of February Street, Xuan Khanh Ward, Ninh Kieu District, covering an area of 17,738 m2, and is being built to international standards with a capacity of 500 beds.
"The project is being implemented in two phases, with phase 1 having a capacity of 182 beds and phase 2 increasing the total number of beds to 500 with an additional 318 beds," Dr. Dinh shared.
Specifically, the main building of the hospital, with a total area of over 40,000m2, includes a 9-story building along with supporting facilities such as a morgue, technical building, security guard house, wastewater treatment plant, and gas station, all of which have been completed. Currently, the project has been granted an environmental permit and has completed fire safety inspections.
The State Inspection Department for Construction Quality - Ministry of Construction is currently conducting the final acceptance phase to put the hospital into operation. It is expected that the hospital will apply for an operating license from the Ministry of Health in December 2024, after completing this procedure in November 2024.
On the other hand, the hospital has sent newly recruited doctors and nurses for training at hospitals within the Vinmec system to meet the standards before commencing operations.
The hospital is built to international standards and has a capacity of 500 beds.
"Currently, the hospital is actively completing the remaining procedures as required by the State Inspection Department to soon put the hospital into operation and serve the healthcare needs of the people," Dr. Dinh added.
Reportedly, the land lease term for this project is 50 years, and it is also expected to make a significant contribution to improving the quality of healthcare services in the Mekong Delta region, as well as reducing the burden on existing hospitals in the area.
In addition, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu highly appreciated the efforts of Vinmec International General Hospital Joint Stock Company throughout the construction process of the hospital and expected the hospital to become a high-quality medical service provider for the people of Can Tho City in particular and the Mekong Delta region in general, creating a positive effect for the city and giving people more opportunities for medical care.
"The hospital should coordinate closely with the Department of Health and the People's Committee of Ninh Kieu District to support the hospital in its operations," Mr. Hieu suggested.
