Vinmec Can Tho International General Hospital is expected to come into operation by the end of the fourth quarter of 2024.

The project is invested by Vinmec International General Hospital Joint Stock Company, implemented at 150A 3/2 Street, Xuan Khanh Ward, Ninh Kieu District with an area of 17,738 m2, built according to international standards with a scale of 500 beds.

"The project is being implemented in two phases, with phase 1 having 182 beds and phase 2 increasing the total number of beds to 500 with 318 additional beds," Dr. Dinh shared.

Specifically, the main project of the hospital with a total area of over 40,000m2 with a 9-storey building and auxiliary works such as a mortuary, technical house, security house, wastewater treatment plant and gas station has been completed. Currently, the project has been granted an environmental license and completed fire prevention and fighting acceptance.

The State Appraisal Department of Construction Quality - Ministry of Construction is conducting the final acceptance phase to put the hospital into use. It is expected that the hospital will apply for an operating license from the Ministry of Health in December 2024 after completing this procedure in November 2024.

On the other hand, the hospital has sent newly recruited doctors and nurses to training at hospitals in the Vinmec system to meet the standards before going into operation.

"Currently, the hospital is actively completing the remaining procedures as required by the State Appraisal Department to soon put the hospital into operation, serving the health care needs of the people," Dr. Dinh added.

It is known that the land lease term of this project is 50 years, and is also expected to make an important contribution to improving the quality of medical services in the Mekong Delta region, as well as reducing the load on existing hospitals in the region.

In addition, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu highly appreciated the efforts of Vinmec International General Hospital Joint Stock Company during the process of hospital construction and expected that the hospital will become an address providing high-quality medical services for the people of Can Tho City in particular and the Mekong Delta region in general, creating a positive effect for the city, helping people have more opportunities for medical care services.

"The hospital closely coordinates with the Department of Health and the People's Committee of Ninh Kieu district to support the hospital during its operations," Mr. Hieu suggested.
