The Department of Education and Training of Quang Nam province has sent a document to the education and training departments and schools regarding strengthening security measures in schools.
According to this department, through the intelligence gathering of the Quang Nam Provincial Police, there is currently a situation in the province where some students are buying Kumanthong dolls on social media to worship at home, and buying cakes, candies, milk, and soft drinks to "feed" them with the aim of praying for good luck and academic success.
These malicious individuals exploited the naivety, gullibility, curiosity, and lack of understanding of the students to lure and deceive them into believing in and buying the dolls.
This is an extremely dangerous superstitious practice that causes anxiety and fear, creating negative consequences for the students themselves, their families, and society.
The Department requests that heads of units strengthen propaganda and education efforts to raise awareness among students.
Prevent individuals from exploiting or luring students into illegal activities. Resolutely prevent students from participating in superstitious practices and illegal religious activities.
In addition, they promptly monitor the situation of students and coordinate with the police to provide information when any related incidents are discovered.
