Recently, a series of images capturing the moment when the bougainvillea tree located on D'ran Pass, Tram Hanh commune, Da Lat city, burst into vibrant bloom, displaying its bright pink and purple hues across the area, has attracted attention on many online travel forums.
Reportedly, this bougainvillea tree was planted by Ms. Bui Hien's family 35 years ago. At that time, the homeowners also built a wooden house behind it, creating a beautiful garden setting that attracts the attention of anyone passing by.
Every summer, around May and June, bougainvillea trees enter their blooming season and become an attractive check-in spot for tourists visiting Da Lat.
This plant is woody, unlike the climbing bougainvillea varieties that are often grown along fences or clinging to window frames.
The tree has a large, sturdy trunk. Its wide canopy extends out onto the road, casting cool shade over a large area of the yard, providing ample space for visitors to rest, take photos, and enjoy the view. Beneath this tree, the bougainvillea vines planted along the roadside fence are also in full bloom, becoming a stunning backdrop for Instagram-worthy photos that will garner thousands of likes for anyone who stops by to take pictures.
The flowers are purplish-pink, clustered at the ends of the branches. The plant is easy to care for and blooms year-round. The sunnier the weather, the more vibrant the flowers become, creating a striking sight in the surrounding area.
Beneath the trees, the homeowner also placed a set of stone tables and chairs so that visitors have a place to stop, rest, and take photos for social media.
According to Dong Ngo, a local tour guide, the ideal time to take beautiful photos with bougainvillea trees is in the morning, from 7-9 am, or in the afternoon from 2-5 pm.
Visitors should choose light and airy outfits such as flared dresses, wide-brimmed hats, etc., in bright colors like white, light blue, yellow, etc., to stand out against the floral backdrop and take eye-catching check-in photos.
To reach this bougainvillea tree, visitors drive about 30km from the city center towards the D'ran pass. The tree is located in front of a house, near the main road, so it's very easy to spot.
If you want to take photos here, visitors should ask permission from the homeowner and remember not to break branches, pick flowers, or litter.
The location of the bougainvillea tree at D'ran Pass is also quite close to several other famous tourist destinations, so if you come here, you can combine it with cloud hunting in Cau Dat, visit beautiful cafes for photos, or go to Linh Phuoc Pagoda to worship and pray for peace, etc.
When visiting Da Lat, tourists should also not forget to enjoy delicious local specialties such as avocado sweet soup, grilled rice paper, chicken hot pot with basil leaves, steamed rice rolls with chicken offal, etc.
