Despite the large number of tourists coming to visit and relax, the market situation and prices of goods serving tourism in the province are still maintained stably. This success has an important contribution from the provincial Market Management force in propagating, inspecting and controlling the market, in order to protect the legitimate rights of people and tourists.
The leader of the provincial Market Management Department said: To ensure a safe tourism environment and create a good impression for tourists, the provincial Market Management Department has promptly developed a plan to inspect and control the market on the occasion of the September 2 holiday. The unit has proactively coordinated closely with relevant sectors, units and localities to propagate, inspect and supervise compliance with legal regulations in tourism business activities. The focus of the inspection work is to monitor the quality of goods and service prices at hotels, motels, restaurants, and entertainment areas.
A typical example is Market Management Team No. 5, the unit in charge of an area with many famous tourist destinations, including Ha Long Bay. To stabilize the market, the Team has proactively grasped the situation, thereby advising superiors to deploy synchronous solutions to inspect and control prices, product quality and food safety and hygiene. The Team also assigned specific tasks to each officer, increased inspections and mobilized businesses and business establishments to sign commitments to comply with legal regulations. Thanks to that, during the recent September 2nd holiday, there were no complicated incidents in the area managed by the Team; contributing to building the image of Quang Ninh tourism as safe, friendly and hospitable.
Not only Market Management Team No. 5, 8/8 Market Management Teams in localities have developed plans and assigned officers and inspectors to be on duty 24/7 to receive and promptly handle information reflected by tourists. Thanks to that, businesses with signs of violations have been reminded and promptly corrected.
With the active participation of the Market Management Force, tourism businesses in the area have voluntarily complied with regulations, especially in publicly posting prices and selling at the correct listed prices. The situation of taking advantage of the high number of visitors to unreasonably increase prices has not occurred, contributing to building an image of safe, friendly and hospitable tourism in Quang Ninh.
Since the beginning of the year, the provincial Market Management Department has inspected, detected and handled 458 violations with a total amount of up to 17.59 billion VND. During the recent September 2nd holiday, the force detected and handled a case of trading in food of unknown origin with a total value of more than 274 million VND.
Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, the provincial Market Management Department will continue to strengthen coordination with functional forces to inspect and remind businesses to comply with the provisions of the law, especially at tourist destinations. The inspection work will focus on key issues such as price listing, food safety and hygiene, etc., thereby contributing to stimulating tourism demand and building an increasingly friendly and hospitable image of Quang Ninh tourism.
