As scheduled, the ASEAN Cup 2024 will end on January 5, 2025 with the second leg of the final. Just 4 days later, clubs in Vietnam will return to action with matches in the V-League and National Cup.

The earliest match marking the return of V-League will be the clash between Nam Dinh and Hanoi FC at Thien Truong Stadium on January 9. On the same day, a number of matches in the 1/8 round of the National Cup will be held.

V-League returns on schedule, with match schedule as dense as the Premier League.

Also on January 9, 2025, CAHN and Thanh Hoa clubs will compete in the third round of the Southeast Asian Cup C1 group stage. Thanh Hoa will visit BG Pathum United while CAHN will play at Kaya-Iloilo.

After that, V-League will continue to take place for 2 more rounds on January 16, 17 and January 23, 24 before the tournament is suspended for about 2 weeks for the teams to take a break for the Lunar New Year.

Thus, some V-League clubs will have to play 4 matches in a period of 18, 19 days in January 2025. The average density will be about 1 match every 4 days, a number not inferior to the dense match schedule of the Premier League in December 2024.
