National sovereignty and territory according to the comprehensive and holistic approach of Vietnamese history

On the morning of June 15, in Hanoi, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU, Hanoi (USSH) coordinated with the Vietnam Historical Science Association, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU-HCM, and the University of Education - Danang University to organize the first National History Conference with the theme: " Research on national territorial sovereignty in the direction of a comprehensive and holistic approach to Vietnamese history ". The conference aimed to encourage and promote historical research on Vietnam's territorial sovereignty, provide a solid scientific foundation to affirm and protect the country's sovereignty, and create a forum for researchers, scholars and experts in the field of history to exchange, discuss and share research results, new approaches and important findings related to territorial sovereignty.

Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, delivered the opening speech.

In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, emphasized the significance of the Conference: "Independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity are extremely sacred, having the meaning of survival for each nation - each people. Through thousands of years of ups and downs in the process of building, preserving and developing the country; the communities living in Vietnam today understand and appreciate the value of independence, peace , national unity and territorial integrity" . In addition, the Conference is an opportunity for domestic universities and research organizations to strengthen cooperation and connection in scientific research, especially in the field of history and national sovereignty, contributing to raising public awareness of the importance of research and protection of territorial sovereignty through communication, press and educational activities.

The conference was attended by many Party and State leaders, professors, doctors, historical researchers... who have researched on Vietnamese history such as: Professor Tran Duc Cuong, President of the Vietnam Historical Science Association, Associate Professor Dr. Tong Trung Tin, President of the Vietnam Archaeological Association, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Vice President of the National Cultural Heritage Council... The speakers presented research and issues related to territorial sovereignty on a historical basis that are important in affirming national sovereignty, especially in the context of the current complicated territorial disputes, thereby contributing to the development of Vietnamese historical science by updating and applying new research methods, comprehensive and complete approaches to territorial sovereignty.
