The Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam ( Agribank ) Saigon Branch recently announced the auction of assets/debts of Hao Huy Trading Company Limited. The book value of this debt as of July 31 is estimated at 137.5 billion VND.
The collateral asset that the bank put up for auction was the floating restaurant ship Elisa. This is an inland waterway vehicle with a registration certificate issued by the Department of Transport on October 24, 2012. The ship is currently anchored at Saigon Port (Xom Chieu Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
In addition, the collateral assets to be auctioned this time include a Toyota Camry SE 3.5 car (license plate 51A-113.35), car registration certificate issued on May 25, 2011.
However, the starting price for the two assets mentioned above was not announced by the bank.

Restaurant ships on the Saigon River continue to be auctioned by Agribank to collect debts (Illustration: Tien Tuan).
The Elisa ship is used by the company to operate wedding restaurant services and is known as "the largest floating restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City".
The ship was built in 2007 and can carry up to 1,000 passengers, but it does not move and is only anchored at Saigon Port (District 4, Ho Chi Minh City). This place is famous for being a close-up fireworks viewing spot on holidays, with tickets costing several million VND per person.
The ship has a designed length of 44.29m, a designed width of 16m, and a side height of 3.5m. The ship has a steel hull, is equipped with a 650 CV Mitsubishi engine, and can carry up to 1,000 people or 20 tons of cargo.
This is not the first time the debt has been put up for sale. Previously, in March, the Ho Chi Minh City Asset Auction Service Center also announced an auction of this debt. At that time, this debt had an outstanding principal of approximately VND60 billion and interest of VND74 billion.
