Two months ago, Mr. Dang Le Dung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Construction and Trading Company No. 2 (ACS), submitted his resignation from the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors and legal representative of the company.

Mr. Dung only stated that he wanted to resign for personal reasons. However, surprisingly, the Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company No. 2 recently received a letter from Mr. Dung withdrawing his resignation.

Mr. Dung stated that he withdrew his resignation because he had arranged his work schedule and wished to continue holding the positions of Chairman of the Board of Directors, Board Member, and Legal Representative of the company.

Previously, Mr. Dung was appointed chairman of the board of directors of ACS from July 2020 and was one of the two legal representatives of this company.

Reportedly, the ACS Board of Directors had convened an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in 2024 on November 19th to finalize senior personnel appointments. However, on November 18th, the ACS Board of Directors announced the postponement of the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders to December 11th, 2024.

According to the minutes of the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders, shareholders approved the election of Mr. Le Duc Nguyen – the permanent vice chairman of the Board of Directors – as the chairman of the Strategic Orientation and Control Council of ACS.

At the same time, ACS also elected an additional member to the board of directors, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Hong - the company's chief accountant.

The annual report states that ACS was originally a state-owned enterprise established by the Ministry of Internal Trade (now the Ministry of Industry and Trade ).

After privatization in 2008, the company no longer has state capital.

Currently, ACS has a registered capital of 40 billion VND, its headquarters are located in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, and its main business is construction.

Since 1994, ACS has been involved in the construction of Japanese-invested projects in the Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, Ho Chi Minh City.

Subsequently, the company's operations expanded to numerous industrial zones in various locations.

Regarding business performance, the audited financial report for 2023 shows that ACS had revenue of over 272 billion VND, a slight decrease compared to 278 billion VND in 2022. ACS's gross profit after deducting the cost of goods sold was nearly 31 billion VND.

However, due to a decrease in financial income, while still burdened by interest expenses and sales management costs, ACS's net profit was a mere 19 million VND.

Although the profit was insignificant, 2023 was still considered more positive than 2022, with after-tax profit reaching nearly 8 million VND.

ACS's business results have declined sharply since 2021. Prior to that period, ACS still recorded profits of billions of dong. For example, in 2020, this construction company earned nearly 12 billion dong in after-tax profit.
