National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue receives Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo

On the afternoon of March 8th, at the National Assembly building, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue received Chinese Ambassador Xiong Bo to discuss relations between the two Parties, the two countries, and the legislative bodies of the two countries.
At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his pleasure at the very successful and particularly important results of the state visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping (December 2023), especially the agreement between the two sides to continue to deepen and elevate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, building a strategically significant Vietnam-China community with a shared future.
Both sides were pleased to note that in the past period, the six major areas of cooperation between the two countries have been implemented and have initially achieved very positive results. High-level exchanges and contacts at all levels, sectors, and localities of the two countries have been closely implemented. Economic , trade, and investment cooperation has achieved many outstanding results. Both sides agreed to maintain regular high-level exchanges and contacts in flexible forms; to effectively implement the high-level common understanding on strengthening people-to-people exchanges; to promote positive communication about the Vietnam-China friendship as well as the achievements of innovation, reform, and opening up in each country; and to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the people of the two countries, especially the younger generation. At the same time, they agreed to strengthen coordination and mutual support within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations, ASEAN, APEC, ASEM, the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation, etc., as well as to enhance coordination at multilateral parliamentary forums in the region and the world. Ambassador Hung Ba highly appreciated the visit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to China in 2022 and the visit of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to Vietnam in 2023. The visits were successful and of historical significance to the relations between China and Vietnam.
Both sides were pleased to note that major areas of cooperation between the two countries have been implemented and have initially yielded very positive results.
GIA HAN
According to Ambassador Hung Ba, senior leaders from both sides have defined a new position for the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries. In particular, the two General Secretaries jointly declared the establishment of a "China-Vietnam Community with a Shared Future, which is of strategic significance." This is a major milestone with decisive importance for the development of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam in the new era, having a tremendous influence and providing important direction for the relationship between the two countries in the future. Ambassador Hung Ba highly appreciated the positive development of relations between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the National People's Congress of China in recent times, contributing to promoting relations between the two Parties and the two countries.
Promoting visits between high-level leaders of the two countries.
Regarding relations between the two Parliaments, the Speaker of the National Assembly emphasized that, in the overall effort to promote "even greater political trust," the cooperative relationship between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China has been continuously strengthened and developed in depth.
Both sides also agreed to promote bilateral relations between the two countries and future visits by high-level leaders and legislative bodies of both countries.
GIA HAN
Both sides maintain exchanges through various flexible forms such as online talks, sending delegations of leaders from committees, specialized agencies, and friendship parliamentary groups to visit each other; maintaining contact, consultation, and close coordination in regional and international parliamentary forums, especially the Inter- Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA). Both sides agreed to continue promoting bilateral relations between the two countries and visits by high-level leaders and legislative bodies of both countries in the future. The Speaker of the National Assembly expressed confidence that, with his affection, experience, and understanding of Vietnam and the bilateral relationship, Ambassador Hung Ba will continue to be a bridge to effectively promote cooperation in various fields between the two countries, contributing to the successful implementation of the common understanding of high-level leaders; concretizing new achievements and new content of the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. To ensure that the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries continues to develop in depth, stability, goodness, and long-term sustainability.
