Commune chairman received disciplinary warning for allowing illegal sand mining.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The Inspection Committee of the An Nhon Town Party Committee (Binh Dinh Province) has found that the violations of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Phuc Commune are serious, difficult to rectify, and have caused negative public opinion among officials, Party members, and the people.

On January 15th, the An Nhon City Party Committee's Inspection Committee issued a disciplinary warning to Mr. Duong Thanh Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Phuc commune, for allowing illegal mineral exploitation to occur.

Previously, on the evening of May 29, 2024, the Binh Dinh Provincial Police, in coordination with the An Nhon Town Police, conducted an ambush and apprehended vehicles illegally extracting sand in My Thanh village, Nhon Phuc commune. This illegal sand mining activity had been ongoing for a long time but had not been completely stopped.

After receiving the information, the An Nhon City Party Committee's Inspection Committee investigated signs of violations by the Nhon Phuc Commune Party Committee during the 2020-2025 term regarding leadership and management of natural resources and minerals in the area.

The Inspection Committee also investigated signs of violations by Mr. Duong Thanh Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Phuc commune for the 2021-2026 term, in advising, organizing, implementing, and managing resources and minerals according to the Party Committee's working regulations and legal provisions.

Upon investigation, the An Nhon City Party Committee's Inspection Committee found that Mr. Duong Thanh Cuong had violated the principle of democratic centralism, violated working regulations, and lacked responsibility in performing his assigned duties and responsibilities.

Mr. Duong Thanh Cuong bears primary responsibility for the violations and shortcomings of the Nhon Phuc Commune Party Committee during the 2020-2025 term. His violations are serious, difficult to rectify, and have caused negative public opinion among cadres, Party members, and the people of Nhon Phuc Commune, diminishing his own prestige, the Party organization, and the agency where he works.

The An Nhon City Party Committee's Inspection Committee has issued a reprimand to Mr. Nguyen Kim Lan, Vice Chairman of the Nhon Phuc Commune People's Committee, and Captain Le Cong Thang, Head of the Nhon Phuc Commune Police.
