Reporting on the preparation work, Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management ( Ministry of Education and Training ) said: The National High School Excellent Student Exam for the 2025-2026 school year has 6,750 candidates registered to take the exam, an increase of 270 candidates compared to the 2024-2025 school year.
Up to this point, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued all necessary documents. Preparations have been actively implemented; from software, mobilizing units to participate in the exam, creating exam questions...
Localities have completed the establishment of teams; arranged the examination rooms, printed the examination room lists, prepared the IT examination rooms and the speaking examination rooms for Foreign Language subjects according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. Based on the Ministry's official dispatch, the units will mobilize teachers to participate in the examination.
At the meeting, members of the Steering Committee reported on the work that has been and is being implemented, identified difficulties, and proposed solutions for implementation in the coming time.

In his concluding remarks, Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the initiative in preparing for the Exam. Based on the analysis of advantages and disadvantages, the Deputy Minister requested the Council to enhance its responsibility, properly perform its role, and focus on coordination. The focal unit needs to review the assignment in the Steering Committee, ensuring clear people, clear work, and clear content.

The national high school exam for the 2025-2026 school year will be held on December 25-26, 2025. Specifically, on December 25, there will be written exams in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, English, Russian, French, Chinese, Japanese and computer programming for Information Technology.
On December 26, written exams in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology; oral exams in English, Russian, French, Chinese, Japanese and computer programming exam in Information Technology.
The exam content follows the General Education Program issued with Circular No. 32/2018/TT-BGD&DT dated December 26, 2018; amended and supplemented by Circular No. 13/2022/TT-BGD&DT dated August 3, 2022 and Circular No. 17/2025/TT-BGD&DT dated September 12, 2025.
For foreign language exams in Russian, French, Chinese, and Japanese, the exam content follows the current general education program and Official Dispatch No. 4171/BGD&DT-GDTrH dated August 26, 2022 of the Ministry of Education and Training guiding the implementation of the specialized program for specialized subjects at high school level.
