The People's Committee of Quang Tri province has just issued a plan to organize sports festivals at all levels and the 9th Quang Tri Provincial Sports Festival in 2025 - 2026.

Accordingly, the commune-level sports festival organizes competitions in 5 or more sports. Depending on specific conditions, priority is given to organizing athletics, football, volleyball, ethnic sports and suitable folk games. The organization time is from January 2025, ending before June 30, 2025. District-level sports festivals, education and training sectors, and armed forces (referred to as district level) organize competitions in 10 or more sports, including athletics, football, volleyball, badminton and popular sports.

Depending on specific conditions, it is possible to organize traditional sports that are suitable to the traditions of the locality and unit. The organization time is from January 2025 and ends before December 31, 2025. For the provincial sports festival, competitions will be organized in 16 sports and sub-sports, including: traditional boat racing, table tennis, tennis, tug of war, cycling, volleyball, swimming, traditional martial arts, chess, chess, pole pushing, badminton, karate, athletics, cross-country and men's football. The organization time is from March 2025 and ends before April 30, 2026.

To ensure the success of the congress, the Provincial People's Committee requests departments, branches, units and localities to proactively renovate and upgrade facilities, equipment and sports equipment to serve the organization of sports competitions in the congress program to ensure safety, efficiency and economy. Promote the socialization of physical education and sports to mobilize resources to strengthen facilities and equipment for the grassroots and for the organization and management of the congress activities.
