On April 16, Professor Reena Marwah from Delhi University (India) analyzed Vietnam's hosting of the Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit in 2025.

According to Professor Marwah, Vietnam's decision to host the P4G conference from April 14-17 is a strategic and timely step for both Vietnam and the world.

As climate commitments from major powers show signs of slowing down, Vietnam has taken the initiative to step up to the forefront, demonstrating its determination to become a pioneer in promoting sustainable development. This conference is not simply a diplomatic meeting, but also a call to action to mobilize resources, strengthen partnerships and accelerate a just green transition.

The P4G conference comes at a watershed moment. As the world faces growing challenges in financing climate action – particularly in developing countries – Vietnam’s leadership has become a bright spot of hope.

P4G focuses on promoting market-based solutions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in areas such as climate resilience, food systems, water security, energy and the circular economy.

For Vietnam, the conference is not only an opportunity to attract essential resources - finance, technology and expertise - but also to deepen bilateral and multilateral relations with P4G member countries such as Denmark, South Korea, the Netherlands and many countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

The significance of the conference is further underscored by its timing, when climate finance commitments from developed countries are increasingly being delayed, adjusted or scaled back, leading to a serious trust gap forming in global climate cooperation.

Developing countries like India and Vietnam are facing a dual challenge: growing their economies while adapting to and coping with climate change – often with limited domestic resources.

In this context, P4G's public-private partnership model becomes a complementary, even essential, way to mobilize innovation and capital - something that traditional financial channels are currently unable to meet at the necessary scale.

Professor Marwah affirmed that this conference is a special opportunity to call for more comprehensive and equitable partnerships. Key partners such as the European Union (EU), Japan and India - with their technological strengths and investment potential - are strategic allies in Vietnam's green journey.

The P4G conference is the ideal forum to deliver a clear and compelling message about expanding investment in Vietnam’s thriving green economy – from renewable energy infrastructure and sustainable agriculture to electric vehicles and circular economy models.

Professor Marwah pointed out that Vietnam is initiating a model of cooperation based on mutual respect, shared responsibility and genuine commitment, where a nation's value is not measured by GDP, but by concrete climate action and a spirit of cooperation.

The vision of a fair and inclusive multilateralism promoted by Vietnam can bring a new direction - necessary and hopeful - for the global climate order./.
