On the morning of August 11th, Viettel Sports Company - the unit managing the The Cong - Viettel Club - held a ceremony to launch the team for the 2025-2026 season.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Minister of National Defense , highly appreciated the preparations for the new season of The Cong - Viettel Club.
The Ministry of National Defense leaders placed their trust in the military players: "Each player carries the 'genes' of the Thể Công tradition. Continue with the spirit of the 'Red Tornado,' continue to attack beautifully, effectively, and captivatingly. You will always be the pride of the soldiers of the entire army and of all Vietnamese people who love the military football team."
Colonel Do Manh Dung, director of Viettel Sports Company, affirmed: "Entering the new season, the entire team will compete with courage, discipline, honesty, and dedication for the colors of The Cong. For the trust of the people and the army, we will achieve the goal of conquering the V-League championship in 2025-2026."
Also at the send-off ceremony, four players from The Cong - Viettel team, along with the U23 Vietnam team that won the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, received commendations from the Minister of National Defense.
They are Vietnam U23 captain Khuất Văn Khang, Nguyễn Công Phương - the scorer of the only goal in the Southeast Asian U23 Championship final, along with Đặng Tuấn Phong and Nguyễn Thành Đạt.
This also represents the Ministry of National Defence's recognition of The Cong - Viettel's efforts in promoting the training of young talents and contributing to the development of Vietnamese football.
In their opening match of the V-League 2025-2026 season, The Cong - Viettel will play against Hanoi Police at Hang Day Stadium at 7:15 PM on August 15th.
