Opportunity for students to use AI to create applications, receive a reward of 200 million VND

On September 14, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with KDI Education organized the launching ceremony of the AI ​​Hackathon 2024 competition. The theme of this year's AI Hackathon is "Protecting the green planet" for primary, secondary and high school students in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the organizers, AI Hackathon 2024 includes 3 competition groups: Group A for primary school students, Group B for secondary school students and Group C for high school students.

In Group A, candidates will use programming languages ​​and artificial intelligence (AI) to create smart applications to help protect the environment.

Meanwhile, for groups B and C, contestants will use AI to analyze images from cameras to program robots to solve tasks on the sand table with 150 free robot usage slots from the organizers.

Students register to compete in teams, each team has a maximum of 3 students, each school registers a maximum of 3 teams.

At the launching ceremony, Mr. Tran Ninh Dong, Department of Intellectual Property Management and Innovation, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, said that the contest is an opportunity for students to share their knowledge and understanding of the fields of STEM, robotics and AI, while also practicing creative thinking and problem solving.

Through the theme “Protecting the Green Planet”, the organizers encourage students to create useful solutions to solve environmental, health, food, clean water, resource and energy problems. This is also an opportunity for young people to raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection and the responsibility of each individual in building a safer, greener, cleaner, more beautiful and modern future world.

The best contestants of AI Hackathon 2024 will receive certificates from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology along with many attractive prizes from the organizing committee and accompanying units with a total value of up to more than 200 million VND.
