The program is directed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade , chaired by the Industrial Development Support Center (IDC), in coordination with CIS Vietnam Advertising and Exhibition Company.

Attending the opening ceremony of VIMEXPO 2024 were Mr. Truong Thanh Hoai, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Mr. Pham Nguyen Hung, Director of the Department of Industry (Ministry of Industry and Trade); Mr. Pham Tuan Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry; Mr. Ishikawa Isamu, Deputy Ambassador, Embassy of Japan in Vietnam; Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation; Mr. Phan Dang Tuat, Chairman of Vietnam Association of Supporting Industries; Mr. Nakano Keita, General Director of Toyota Vietnam Automobile Company; Mr. Do Minh Tam, General Director of Thaco Industries; Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Major General, Deputy Political Commissar of the General Department of Defense Industry; Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Director of Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade. Representatives of units, associations, organizations, representatives of domestic and foreign enterprises attended.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Pham Tuan Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that supporting industry and processing and manufacturing industry are one of the important pillars, playing an essential role in the process of industrialization and modernization of the country, contributing to enhancing production capacity, improving competitiveness and affirming Vietnam's position in the global value chain.

In recent years, with the continuous development of science and technology; support and preferential policies of the Party and State; together with the close coordination between domestic and international enterprises, and related parties, the supporting and processing and manufacturing industries in Vietnam have made significant developments, making important contributions to the country's economic growth.

Mr. Pham Tuan Anh emphasized that, implementing the tasks assigned by the Government within the framework of the National Supporting Industry Development Program, from 2020 to present, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has chaired the organization of the annual event Vietnam International Exhibition on Supporting Industry and Manufacturing - VIMEXPO, which is a gathering place for supporting industry and manufacturing and processing industry enterprises nationwide and internationally to promote, connect trade and build strategic and sustainable cooperative relationships in the value chain.

Over the past 4 years, VIMEXPO Exhibition has attracted about 600 participating enterprises with more than 800 booths in the fields of mechanics, automobiles, electronics, high technology, textiles, footwear; organized more than 10 specialized seminars at the exhibition; arranged more than 1,500 connections and attracted more than 30,000 visitors.

In 2024, the 5th VIMEXPO Exhibition will gather more than 200 enterprises, including leading domestic and foreign corporations, with the most advanced products and technologies. This will become an "ideal meeting place" for enterprises to exchange experiences, access new technologies, improve production, improve quality, form and develop domestic and foreign value chains.

Mr. Pham Tuan Anh believes,   With the participation of many businesses and the attention and support from agencies and units, VIMEXPO 2024 Exhibition will achieve many successes, opening up new opportunities for cooperation and development; contributing to raising the position of Vietnam's industry to become one of the leading countries in the global supply chain.

VIMEXPO 2024 continues to carry out the mission of "Connecting for Development", affirming itself as a place and environment to bridge domestic and international enterprises in the fields of supporting industry and processing and manufacturing to have the opportunity to exchange and share advanced technologies, opportunities to approach partners, expand markets, invest in expanding production, improve competitiveness, and gradually participate in the global supply chain.

Also at the exhibition, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation - JSC (VEAM) shared that after 4 successful events, VIMEXPO Exhibition is a typical event in the field of Supporting Industry in Vietnam and is also a good opportunity for domestic and international enterprises to promote products, exchange experiences, create joint venture opportunities as well as enhance brand value.

The exhibition is also an effective bridge to help businesses in the supporting industry and manufacturing sector in Vietnam gradually improve their competitiveness and help businesses gradually move to stages that create higher added value in the global supply value chain.

" As a state-owned enterprise in the field of industrial production and mechanical engineering, with a strong commitment and goal in the field of mechanics and modernization of agricultural production and supporting industry, over the past time, VEAM has continuously invested in technological innovation, increased production capacity and improved the quality of main product lines, including engines, agricultural machinery, automobiles and supporting industry products. VEAM's products are not only present in the domestic market but also exported to more than 20 countries. In its main activities, VEAM has been an active participant in domestic and foreign exhibition events, of which VIMEXPO is one of the important events that we participate in every year " - Mr. Pham Anh Tuan expressed.

From a local perspective, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Phong City, said that in recent times, thanks to favorable factors in the business environment as well as preferential policies and development potential, Vietnam is facing a great opportunity to participate more deeply in the global supply chain, becoming an attractive destination for foreign investors. The attraction of large projects in the processing and manufacturing industry of the world's leading corporations and companies has created opportunities for the supporting industry of Vietnam in general and of each locality in particular, contributing to the overall development of the supporting industry of Vietnam.

“Following the success of the International Exhibition on Supporting Industry and Manufacturing Industry in Vietnam - Vimexpo, we propose that the Ministry of Industry and Trade increase support for localities in trade promotion activities, organizing fairs and exhibitions on supporting industry and manufacturing,” Mr. Thanh proposed.

The exhibition is also a bridge for businesses to achieve positive results in the field of trade promotion and market development, creating opportunities for cooperation, expanding relationships, connecting and accessing modern technology in the world, enhancing the role of Vietnamese businesses in participating in the global value and supply chain.

During the Exhibition, the Organizing Committee of VIMEXPO 2024 in coordination with state management agencies and specialized associations will organize essential sideline activities for businesses operating in business connection such as: "Business Matching" with the participation of leading Buyers in Vietnam Toyota, Bosch, Samsung, Hyundai, Denso, TMT Motor, Canon, Hanel, .. and many other technology demonstration activities and useful events by domestic and international participating businesses, which will be held during the 3 days of the Exhibition.

VIMEXPO Exhibition belongs to the Supporting Industry Development Program, is an event to concretize Resolution No. 115/NQ-CP of the Government, aiming to create a favorable environment for enterprises operating in the supporting industry and manufacturing and processing to introduce products, exchange technology, seek partners, joint ventures, and attract investment. VIMEXPO with the goal of "Connecting for development", through 4 times of organization has received a lot of attention and support from domestic and international enterprises in the supporting industry and manufacturing and processing. VIMEXPO 2024 has a scale of 5,000m2 and 200 booths with the participation of 183 enterprises: Thaco Group, Toyota Vietnam, Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation (VEAM), 83 mechanics, V-Proud, Smart Vietnam, Intech,... and companies from countries and territories: Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan...
