This event marks the beginning of a series of activities introducing Son La's specialties at Saigon Co.op 's system of 800 retail outlets nationwide, running from May 24th to June 1st.
This also marks the first time Saigon Co.op has established trade connections with the Northwestern provinces, aiming to bring the specialties of these regions to all parts of the country through its system of 800 retail outlets.

During the week-long promotion of Son La plums and agricultural products, Saigon Co.op expects to sell 100 tons of plums harvested from the growing areas in Moc Chau and Yen Chau districts.
Son La plums are sold through a system that meets food safety standards, VietGAP standards, and has certification from competent authorities regarding their origin. The price of Son La plums is kept stable and competitive compared to the market by Co.opmart and Co.opXtra.
Co.opmart and Co.opXtra are running a promotion to bring the price of plums down to only 29,900 VND/kg, valid from May 24th to June 1st.

Leaders from Ho Chi Minh City and Son La Province surveyed the quality of agricultural products from Son La.
Besides giving prime locations to Son La agricultural products, Co.opmart and Co.opXtra supermarkets organize product sampling for customers, including tastings of products made from plums: plum jam, dried plums, dried plums, plum syrup, etc.
On the first day of the program (May 24), more than 10 tons of Son La plums were consumed by Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food... on the same day.
Customers appreciate Son La plums for their sweetness, crispness, and aroma; their bright red color is truly characteristic of plums from the Northwest mountainous region.
This is the result of the meticulous preparation process that Saigon Co.op has undertaken for Vietnamese agricultural products in general, and Son La plums in particular, from warehousing and transportation to storage and distribution.
100 tons of Son La plums will be sold by Co.opmart and Co.opXtra during the festival.
On this occasion, Co.opmart and Co.opXtra also introduced agricultural products and OCOP (One Commune One Product) items from Son La such as: longan, yellow passion fruit, coffee, tea, dried longan, black garlic, vermicelli, smoked buffalo/pork meat, cham cheo (a type of dipping sauce), dried bamboo shoots, reishi mushrooms, etc.
Son La plums at Co.opmart and Co.opXtra are priced stably and competitively compared to the market.
Expanding the supply chain to the Northwest provinces helps to diversify the range of goods in Saigon Co.op's system, ensuring a sustainable supply and competitive pricing so that mountain specialties can reach customers more easily.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc – General Director of Saigon Co.op – said: “The percentage of Vietnamese goods in Saigon Co.op's distribution systems always reaches over 90%, including more than 1,000 OCOP products from businesses and cooperatives nationwide.”
