Strengthening friendship between the Vietnamese people and the Chinese people

Responding to the "Vietnam-China Humanitarian Friendship Year 2025", on the morning of October 25, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations and the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City organized a meeting of former military students, international students, and Vietnamese students who studied and lived in China through different periods; Chinese students of universities in Ho Chi Minh City; and Chinese students studying in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the meeting, sharing the traditional history of Vietnam - China friendship, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hiep, Chairman of the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that in the history of revolutionary struggle of the Communist Party of China and the Communist Party of Vietnam , the two Parties have had a close relationship and mutual support that all generations of people of the two countries always remember and are proud of.

Over the past 40 years, China and Vietnam have supported each other in training a large number of students and researchers. After graduating and returning to their home countries, they have promoted the cultural and linguistic knowledge they have learned, actively contributing to the socio- economic development, strengthening the national security and defense of the two countries, and strengthening the bilateral friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and China.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Hiep, Chairman of the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City delivered the opening speech at the meeting.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Hiep expressed his belief that the meeting will help the younger generations of the two countries better understand the history of friendly relations between the two peoples. They will have more motivation to study and foster a sense of responsibility to inherit and promote the tradition of "the close Vietnam-China relationship, both comrades and brothers", on the foundation of peace, friendship and good neighborliness established and laid by President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong and cultivated by generations of leaders of the two countries.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Duong Lap, Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City, shared the imprints in the solidarity and friendship between China and Vietnam. He said that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam and is the "Year of Humanitarian Exchange", so it is necessary to continue to preserve and inherit the tradition of friendship between the two countries, and preserve the good memories of the "close relationship between Vietnam and China, both comrades and brothers".

Colonel Phan Hai Tan, representative of former military students of the Vietnam Army School stationed in Yunnan (1950 - 1954) shared memories of his time studying in China.

Today's meeting not only contributes to implementing the high-level common awareness of the two Parties and two countries on preserving and developing the friendly relationship between the two countries, but also encourages generations of overseas students, young generations to continue to inherit and promote the tradition of China-Vietnam friendship, making new contributions to the cause of construction and development of each country.

Mr. Duong Lap affirmed his willingness to accompany the Union of Friendship Organizations of the City and the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City in activities to promote friendship between generations of Vietnam and China; deepen substantive cooperation, strengthen the connection of development needs between Chinese localities and Ho Chi Minh City; promote people-to-people exchange, cultural and tourism cooperation to bring benefits to the people...
