Two fishermen in distress were rescued in the waters off Quang Tri province.

On December 12th, information from the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command stated that the Cua Tung Border Guard Station and the Bac Son Control Station under the Cua Viet Port Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard) coordinated with functional forces and local people to promptly rescue and bring a fishing boat and two fishermen in distress at sea safely ashore.

Previously, the fishing boat numbered QT 10164-TS (24 horsepower, 7.05m long), owned by Mr. Tran Van Tinh (born in 1978) and accompanied by fisherman Le Van Hai (born in 1974), both residing in Cua Tung commune, Quang Tri province, was engaged in gillnet fishing. While the boat was on its way from the open sea into the Cua Tung estuary, it encountered strong winds and large waves, causing damage to the hull, partial water ingress, and a risk of sinking on the southern bank of the estuary.

Upon discovery, at noon on the same day (December 12th), the Cua Tung Border Guard Station mobilized its forces and simultaneously notified the Bac Son Control Station. In coordination with local authorities, the police and military forces of Cua Tung and Ben Hai communes, and the local people, they promptly rescued the two fishermen on the distressed boat, bringing them safely ashore. The authorities also towed the damaged fishing boat ashore for repairs.
