Da Nang has passed several important resolutions for the city's development.

After two days of work, the session has completed all the items on its agenda.

The session unanimously approved the submissions from the City People's Committee regarding: the plan and roadmap for drafting normative legal resolutions to address resolutions issued by the former Da Nang City People's Council and the Quang Nam Provincial People's Council before the reorganization; and the projected funding for the management and operation of the Hoa Xuan Wastewater Treatment Plant, Phase 3, over a period of 5 years.

Assigning additional state budget revenue targets from previously assigned revenue sources to district and commune levels after the 2025 restructuring, and a targeted support mechanism in case of exceeding assigned revenue targets; and the status of developing a medium-term capital plan for the 2026-2030 period.

Receiving feedback and recommendations from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city on the Front's participation in government building in 2025; reviewing reports on the performance of the People's Procuracy, People's Court, and Civil Enforcement Agency of the city.

It was unanimously agreed to draft a Resolution of the City People's Council on the determination to build Da Nang into a smart city by 2035.

At the session, the City People's Council also carried out personnel work within its authority. Accordingly, it voted to pass a resolution dismissing Mr. Phan Van Binh, Chief of the City Party Committee Office and former Director of the Department of Internal Affairs, from his position as a member of the City People's Committee, term X, 2021-2026.

At the same time, a resolution was passed to elect Mr. Tran Thang Loi, Chief Inspector of the city and former Chief of the City Party Committee Office, as a member of the City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

In his closing remarks, Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung requested the City People's Committee to urgently develop a specific plan and action program to implement the resolutions passed at the session, based on the principles of clear objectives, clear progress, clear resources, clear results, and clear responsibilities of each agency and unit, to be completed by December 2025.

Focus on concretizing the implementation of specific mechanisms and breakthrough tasks, unlocking driving forces, striving to achieve the city's economic growth target in 2026, and creating a solid foundation for sustainable growth in the 2025-2030 period.

Urgently research comprehensive, interdisciplinary solutions to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, especially unusually heavy rainfall, prolonged heatwaves, strong storms, flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas, saltwater intrusion, and tidal surges; prepare comprehensive plans for fire prevention and control, ensuring traffic safety and urban order… in line with the orientation towards an ecological, smart, and safe city.

The City People's Council requests the City People's Committee, departments, agencies, and localities to focus intensely on urgent tasks from now until the end of 2025.
