Dak Lak cooperates in controlling product quality and implementing "Responsible Green Tick"

On the afternoon of January 2nd, within the framework of the Summary of the Agreement on Economic and Social Development Cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands provinces in 2024, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the People's Committees of the five Central Highlands provinces organized a conference to implement the Cooperation Program on Quality Control of Goods between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands provinces.

Attending the event were leaders of the Central Highlands provinces, leaders of departments and branches of Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands region, along with businesses, retailers, distributors... committed to implementing the "Responsible Green Tick".

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Program, Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, said: On March 8, 2024, the leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City launched the Goods Quality Control Cooperation Program (Green Tick for Responsibility). This is the determination to build a safe and sustainable supply chain of the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City.

With the goal of guiding safe and sustainable production through market signals based on the principles of voluntariness, transparency, and honesty; creating opportunities for production and business establishments to apply strict quality control processes, develop markets, and enhance competitiveness against producers who prioritize profit over consumer rights and health…

Products bearing the Green Tick will gain the trust of retailers, who will prioritize them in their mission to serve consumers; they will receive distribution support such as: selling within the "Green Tick Responsible" product zone, being selected as private label brands, point-of-sale marketing, etc.; at the same time, the business will be positioned as a Sustainable - Safe - Responsible - Transparent producer; and will receive media support and the right to use the "Green Tick Responsible" logo.

At the Conference, businesses, associations, distributors, retailers... of localities discussed about registering to participate in the program "Responsible Green Tick"; leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Industry and Trade of provinces discussed about the cooperation program to control the quality of goods "Responsible Green Tick" so that retailers and consumers can feel secure and trust in goods with "Responsible Green Tick" to protect health, prevent unsafe products...

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Central Highlands provinces shall sign agreements to control quality at the source and prevent unsafe products from reaching consumers on the basis of promoting the functions and tasks of the agricultural sector in controlling the farming, growing, production, processing... of agricultural products in the Central Highlands and promoting the quality control capacity of retail systems in the Ho Chi Minh City market...

The conference aims to build a safe and sustainable supply chain, creating conditions for linking production and consumption of goods from raw material areas to consumer markets; creating a fair playing field between businesses and protecting the rights and health of consumers.

Through the signing, the departments and branches of the Central Highlands provinces hope to promote the "Green Tick of Responsibility" Program, orienting safe and sustainable production; monitoring, evaluating and promoting the role of Ho Chi Minh City's Food Safety chains in the area; building and standardizing production and packaging processes of agricultural products...
