Electricity workers under Thanh Hoa Power Company are disseminating information and guiding customers on safe, economical, and efficient electricity usage.
In the summer of 2025, Thanh Hoa Power Company (PC Thanh Hoa) projected a 11.26% increase in peak power demand across the province compared to the same period. To proactively manage power supply, PC Thanh Hoa conducted a comprehensive inspection and review of the entire power grid system in the province, promptly addressing any shortcomings or defects that could potentially cause power outages. They intensified monitoring of operational status, conducted periodic inspections and tests of the power system, implemented measures such as transformer replacement and swapping, phase balancing, and load balancing between substations. They also prepared sufficient spare parts and equipment, communication systems, transportation, and deployed standby personnel to detect and handle any abnormalities; and implemented a rational power grid operation method to ensure safety and reliability under normal conditions and flexible switching in case of emergencies. In addition, the company has strengthened its inspection and supervision in technical management and operation, ensuring absolute safety for personnel and equipment, strictly implementing regulations on labor safety and fire prevention, and ensuring the operation and supply of electricity to nearly 900,000 customers throughout the province.
A highlight is the increased application of technology in power grid operation management. Currently, Thanh Hoa Power Company has 31 110kV substations operating under an unmanned mechanism, controlled and monitored entirely remotely via SCADA systems, IEDs, cameras/sensors, etc. These unmanned substations have become a typical model for digital substations, where data is collected, processed, and transmitted using digital signals, completely replacing the previous system. Automation contributes to improved accuracy in dispatching, saves manpower, and increases the efficiency of power grid operation.
Along with improving and strengthening the power grid, Thanh Hoa Power Company (PC Thanh Hoa) also continues to promote electricity saving solutions, from households and offices to businesses. Through interactive channels such as the 19006769 hotline, Zalo customer service, the EVNNPC customer service application, and fanpage, all customer requests and inquiries are answered quickly and accurately. In addition, this team monitors and gathers information about electricity, focusing on searching for and classifying different types of information, reporting to unit and company leaders for timely handling of complaints and inquiries from the public. This contributes to maintaining the unit's image and increasing customer satisfaction for electricity users and the community.
One of the outstanding campaigns that Thanh Hoa Power Company has effectively implemented recently is the "Electricity Saving Family" program. Thousands of households in the area have checked their electrical appliances, replacing them with energy-saving devices such as LED lights, inverter air conditioners, and solar water heaters; at the same time, they have changed their usage habits such as turning off appliances when not in use, utilizing natural light, using air conditioners rationally, and limiting the use of many electrical appliances during peak hours...
Thanks to these simple yet effective measures, thousands of households have saved 10-20% of their monthly electricity consumption. Ms. Ngo Thanh Ha from Hac Thanh ward said: “Besides the meter reading feature through the electricity user application, we also receive alerts when consumption exceeds the threshold compared to the previous month. This allows me to know exactly how much electricity my family uses each day, and thus adjust our electricity usage to be more efficient and economical.”
Currently, Thanh Hoa Power Company manages 31 substations/49 110kV transformers (with a total installed capacity of S = 2237MVA, an increase of 337MVA compared to the same period in 2024), 72 110kV transmission lines (1,111.918km long), 265 medium-voltage transmission lines (7,572.08km), and 13,124km of low-voltage power grid. With the increased capacity after the commissioning of the 500kV circuit 3 and the 220kV Nam Sum - Nong Cong transmission line in 2024, the power grid through Thanh Hoa will not only increase the electricity supply capacity for industrial and residential areas, but also contribute to stabilizing electricity transmission from the Central to the North during periods of high load.
According to Hoang Hai, Director of Thanh Hoa Power Company: “Clearly defining the responsibility of the electricity sector in ensuring a stable power supply to meet the needs of socio-economic development and people's lives, especially during periods of high demand such as holidays and summer; in addition to upgrading infrastructure, we focus on improving services and promoting awareness so that people can work together to use electricity safely, economically, and efficiently. With these efforts, we hope not only to meet the current electricity needs of the people but also to aim for sustainable future development, adapting flexibly to weather changes and the ever-increasing electricity demand of customers.”
