Ensuring electricity supply during hot season

Power workers under PC Thanh Hoa propagate and guide customers to use electricity safely, economically and effectively.

In the summer of 2025, Thanh Hoa Power Company (Thanh Hoa Power Company) forecasted that the maximum capacity of the whole province would increase by 11.26% over the same period. To proactively plan power supply, Thanh Hoa Power Company has organized inspections and reviews of the entire power grid system in the province, promptly handling existing problems and defects that could cause power outages. Strengthen monitoring of operating status, conduct periodic inspections and testing of the power system, implement measures to replace and swap transformers, balance phases, and reasonably share loads between transformer stations (TSAs). Prepare adequate supplies, spare equipment, communication systems, means of transport, and arrange on-duty forces to detect and handle unusual phenomena; arrange reasonable power grid operation methods, ensure safety and reliability under normal conditions and flexibly switch in case of incidents. In addition, the company has strengthened inspection and supervision in technical management and operation, ensuring absolute safety for people and equipment, strictly implementing regulations on labor safety, fire prevention and fighting, ensuring operation and power supply for nearly 900 thousand customers in the whole province.

The highlight is the promotion of technology application in grid operation management. Currently, Thanh Hoa PC has 31 110kV substations operating under an unmanned mechanism, completely controlled and monitored remotely via SCADA systems, IEDs, cameras/sensors... Substations operating under an unmanned mechanism have become typical models for digital stations, where data is collected, processed and transmitted using digital signals, completely replacing the previous system. Automation contributes to improving the accuracy of dispatching, saving manpower and increasing the efficiency of grid operation.

Along with completing and strengthening the power grid, Thanh Hoa PC also continues to promote the dissemination of electricity saving solutions, from households, agencies, offices to businesses. Through interactive channels such as hotline 19006769, customer care zalo, EVNNPC customer care application, fanpage... all customer requests and questions are answered quickly and accurately. In addition, this team controls and captures information about electricity, focusing on searching, classifying types of information, reporting to unit leaders, the company directs timely handling of complaints and questions from people... Thereby contributing to maintaining the image of the unit, increasing satisfaction for electricity customers and the community.

One of the typical campaigns that PC Thanh Hoa has effectively implemented recently is the program "Family saves electricity". Thousands of households in the area have checked the electrical appliances in use at home, replacing them with energy-saving ones such as LED lights, inverter air conditioners, solar water heaters; at the same time, changing usage habits such as turning off appliances when not in use, taking advantage of natural light, using air conditioners reasonably, limiting the use of many electrical appliances during peak hours...

By applying these simple but effective measures, thousands of households have saved 10 - 20% of their monthly electricity consumption. Ms. Ngo Thanh Ha in Hac Thanh ward said: “In addition to the feature of looking up meter readings via the electricity user application, we are also warned when the consumption level exceeds the threshold compared to the previous month. Thanks to that, I can know exactly how much electricity my family uses each day, thereby adjusting electricity usage to be more optimal and economical.”

Currently, Thanh Hoa PC is managing 31 substations/49 110kV transformers (with a total installed capacity of S = 2237MVA, an increase of 337MVA compared to the same period in 2024), 72 110kV lines (1,111.918km long), 265 medium voltage lines (7,572.08km) and 13,124km of low voltage grid. With the increase in capacity after the 500kV line 3 and the 220kV Nam Sum - Nong Cong line are energized in 2024, the power grid through Thanh Hoa will not only increase the ability to supply electricity to industrial and residential areas, but also contribute to stabilizing electricity transmission from the Central region to the North during times of high load.

Director of PC Thanh Hoa Hoang Hai said: “Clearly defining the responsibility of the electricity sector in ensuring a stable power source to meet the needs of socio -economic development and people's lives, especially during times of high demand such as holidays and summer; besides upgrading infrastructure, we focus on improving services and promoting propaganda so that people can join hands to use electricity safely, economically and effectively. With these actions, we hope to not only meet the current electricity needs of people but also aim for a sustainable development future, flexibly adapting to weather changes and the increasing electricity needs of customers”.
