
In order to preserve, showcase, and promote the cultural beauty of the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam; to enhance the promotion of local culture and tourism; and to meet the needs of people and tourists who wish to visit, experience, and learn about the cultures of ethnic groups, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism plans to develop a framework plan for organizing activities in 2026 at the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village with the following contents:
Recreating and showcasing the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities through activities such as: Organizing the event "Spring Colors Across the Nation" (expected to be held from February 27th, 28th to March 1st, 2026). This is an annual activity aimed at recreating and honoring the beauty of the traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) culture of the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam. The event demonstrates the concern of the Party and State leaders through activities such as meeting and wishing the people a Happy New Year, contributing to strengthening national unity and spreading traditional cultural values;
The "Vietnamese Ethnic Cultures Day" will be organized (scheduled for April 17-19, 2026). The event aims to connect, interact, and exchange experiences in preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic groups, strengthening solidarity, and fostering pride and patriotism within the community.
Alongside this is the "Week of National Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" (scheduled to be held from November 18-23, 2026). This event will showcase typical cultural heritage, folk art performances, traditional crafts, and unique customs and practices of various ethnic groups, contributing to raising community awareness in preserving cultural identity and promoting exchange and connection between regions. There will also be the "Highland Market Fair" (scheduled to coincide with major national holidays: Liberation of the South on April 30, International Labor Day on May 1, National Day on September 2, and New Year's Day);…
Furthermore, in 2026, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism plans to organize activities related to cultural weeks, cultural days, and local tourism festivals; fairs and exhibitions to promote tourism, advertise handicraft products, and OCOP products… linked to promoting the cultural and tourism values of different regions;
The Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village will organize exhibitions and displays showcasing traditional national cultural values; hold festivals and competitions on folk art and traditional local arts to enhance exchange, promotion, and connection of cultural values with sustainable tourism development.
To supplement and finalize the framework plan for organizing activities in 2026 at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-administered cities to pay attention to, coordinate with, and direct relevant units to implement the following contents: Register and develop a plan of activities for 2026 for their localities at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village.
Delegations from local ethnic communities participate in annual and monthly themed activities and events related to major national holidays and important historical events at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village;
Coordinate and support the selection of artisans and ethnic minority people from the locality to participate in daily activities on a rotational basis for 3 to 6 months or longer depending on actual conditions; ensuring 16-18 ethnic minority groups are regularly active at the Village by 2026.
The application form should be sent to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Vietnam Ethnic Cultures Department, 01 Hoa Lu Street, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi ) before July 21, 2025.
