Ho Chi Minh City is proud of its achievements in specialized healthcare with numerous research and application activities. The city's leaders would like to express their sincere gratitude to the medical facilities, professors, doctors, and healthcare workers who have boldly pioneered and explored research to enable us to develop and achieve these accomplishments in healthcare for the people.

Focus on developing medical tourism.

Associate Professor Dr. Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, presented at the conference lessons learned from ASEAN countries on attracting more tourists for medical examination and treatment. This is a set of solutions to help Ho Chi Minh City soon become a healthcare center in the ASEAN region.

Accordingly, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia were voted the top three countries as attractive destinations for medical treatment in the region.

The lessons learned from these three countries include focusing on training high-quality medical personnel; developing modern infrastructure; continuously developing advanced medical techniques; and developing medical tourism, combining modern and traditional medicine.

According to Professor Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health, Ho Chi Minh City is a shining example nationwide in healthcare.

The Deputy Minister of Health expressed his wish that the Ho Chi Minh City health sector continue to pay attention to and strengthen efforts to attract resources and invest in the development of modern medical facilities commensurate with the requirements of specialized medical development; and attract international tourists to Ho Chi Minh City for both leisure and medical treatment.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City needs to focus on the quality of human resources, professional training for the medical staff, and incentive policies to ensure that doctors, nurses, and medical personnel can work with peace of mind and provide healthcare for the people.
