Den Vau has just released a music product called Cooking for You. This is also the latest composition that the male rapper has dedicated to the audience before the live show Show of Den which is about to take place in Hanoi on May 27.
The song boasts a melodious and pure tune, featuring the vocals of young singer PiaLinh (Huong Linh) combined with the warm, deep rap voice of Den. The music video documents Den and his friends' journey to the highlands to visit children at two boarding schools for ethnic minorities in Sa Tong (Muong Cha, Dien Bien ).
After 2 years of the pandemic, Den had the opportunity to visit the children and the school he contributed to building. During the days of preparing for this trip, when discussing with the crew what gifts to bring and what dishes to cook for the children and teachers, Den came up with the idea of writing this song.
Black cooks for the children himself.
Talking about his feelings during the trip, Den was moved: “Up here, I realized that my contribution to the 'Raising Children' project is only a small part in supporting the children. For the children to learn to read and write, it is a great contribution of the departments, unions, organizations and local teachers who have promoted, encouraged and supported the villagers to understand the importance of learning. When I got there and felt it, I realized that it is not enough to build a school and invite teachers to teach so that the children can go to school, but it requires the great dedication of many people.”
In the music video, Den brought specialties from his hometown of Quang Ninh to the remote mountainous area for the children, such as shrimp, squid patties, and shrimp paste with stewed meat. Along with the teachers, the rapper personally cooked meals, prepared the food, and played with the children.
Den revealed that he will donate the revenue from the listens and views of this song to build schools and support underprivileged children. The rapper shared: "Having grown up in difficult conditions, lacking food and clothing, I understand how terrible it is. These things greatly affect children's journey in seeking knowledge."
The male rapper donated all revenue from the new MV to support children in the highlands.
Den expressed that he will let the audience receive the song in different ways, personally he only wants to send a small part of his effort.
“When we come here, we are all just doing what we learned from the good people around us. Before I built the school, there were hundreds of schools built, before I raised my brother, there were tens of thousands of children being fed. I am not the first and certainly not the last. Doing good does not mean doing something great, nor do you need to be a great person to do good. A hair clip for your sister, a ball for your brother, teddy bears, a delicious meal… Anyone can do those things. And to do good, you also need to learn.
Fortunately, in this life there are countless people who are dedicating themselves to society every day. These examples and actions are the lessons I learn from and observe. I think that when everyone looks to the good things to learn from and follow, society will become so much better," Den Vau shared.
