According to Tuoi Tre Online 's observations in Kien Giang province, many businesses and individuals are using the service of renting apricot blossom trees for Tet (Lunar New Year) decorations as a trend.

Instead of spending a large sum of money to buy apricot blossom trees for Tet (Lunar New Year), many people and businesses have chosen to rent them to save costs and time on care, while still having a beautiful apricot blossom tree to welcome the spring.

With nearly five years of experience renting out apricot blossom trees for Tet (Lunar New Year), Ms. Vo Thi Ngoc Thuy, a small business owner at the spring flower market in Phu Gia Square, Rach Gia City, said that this year the number of customers renting apricot blossom trees for Tet has increased compared to last year.

One of the most important reasons customers rent apricot blossom trees is convenience. Instead of having to put in the effort to care for the trees, customers simply need to rent one, choose their preferred style, and specify the delivery time, and then they can confidently celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year).

"I rented out four potted apricot blossom trees for Tet (Lunar New Year), at a price of 15 million VND per pot. The rental period, as usual every year, is until the 7th or 10th day of the Lunar New Year, after which I will transport the trees back," Ms. Thuy said.

Rental prices depend on the size, quality, and beauty of the apricot blossom tree. Large, beautiful apricot blossom trees with attractive shapes can cost 10-20 million VND per pot to rent. Smaller apricot blossom trees, which don't require such high aesthetic standards, can be rented for 4-8 million VND.

Unlike the vendors at the spring flower market in Tran Quang Khai Square, Rach Gia City, who only sell chrysanthemums and marigolds, Mr. Duong Lam Dong (60 years old) specializes in renting out Tet apricot blossom trees in huge pots.

In his rental display area, there are over 100 large and small apricot blossom trees in pots, with rental prices ranging from 5 to 20 million VND per pot.

"Customers not only save on shopping costs but can also change their choice every year without worrying about what will happen to the apricot blossom tree after Tet. After Tet, the potted apricot blossom tree will be returned to the supplier, and customers don't have to spend time taking care of it," Mr. Dong happily said.

Especially for households without space to grow apricot blossom trees or for busy people, the apricot blossom tree rental service makes it easy for them to have a beautiful potted apricot blossom tree that suits their home space without having to worry about caring for the tree throughout the Tet season.

"With a price of around 4-5 million VND to decorate for 10 days during Tet, it's both economical and extremely convenient," said Ms. Phan Thi Bang Nha, a resident of Vinh Thanh ward, Rach Gia city.
