Dinh Bac praised Tran Thanh Trung as a quality player.

After just a few training sessions, Vietnamese-Bulgarian player Tran Thanh Trung quickly made a good impression and scored points professionally with his teammates at U23 Vietnam.

"Tran Thanh Trung is very happy, practices and integrates quickly. Through the process of practicing with the whole team, I see that Trung does not encounter many difficulties because he is a quality player. I believe Trung will play well in the upcoming matches," player Nguyen Dinh Bac shared during the afternoon practice session of September 1 of U23 Vietnam.

Vietnam U23 team has been training in Phu Tho since August 30, preparing for 3 matches in Group C of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers at Viet Tri Stadium. Up to now, overseas Vietnamese rookie Tran Thanh Trung has had 3 training sessions with the team.

Valued at over 12 billion VND and having played as a starter in the Bulgarian national championship, Thanh Trung is expected to soon have a place on the field in the U23 Asian qualifiers, even aiming for the 33rd SEA Games.

At just 20 years old, Thanh Trung is a promising central midfielder for the U23 and Vietnam national teams. Just one month after returning home, Ninh Binh Club gave him the opportunity to play in two matches in the V-League. Even though he only came on as a substitute, the player still showed confidence and bravery.

Returning to U23 Vietnam, when asked about the goal in the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers, Dinh Bac said that he and the whole team are determined for each specific match.

"The coaches and players are all focused on preparing for all three matches. We respect each opponent. Bangladesh is our first opponent, we are determined to win because this match takes place right after the A80 event."

In Group C of the 2026 AFC U23 qualifiers, Vietnam U23 will meet Bangladesh, Singapore and Yemen on September 3, September 6 and September 9, respectively.

U23 Vietnam is given more strength

On the afternoon of September 1 in Viet Tri (Phu Tho), Mr. Hoang Quoc Vinh - Head of High Performance Sports Department (Department of Sports and Physical Training), Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - President of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - General Secretary of VFF visited and encouraged U23 Vietnam before the Asian qualifiers.

Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan affirmed that with the close support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Physical Training and Sports and the VFF, U23 Vietnam has the best preparation for two major goals in 2025: the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games.

In the atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, VFF leaders presented meaningful gifts to the members of U23 Vietnam as encouragement for the team to strive to contribute and excellently complete their tasks.
