On his personal page, Novak Djokovic shared: “Dear Paris, unfortunately I will not be playing at the Paris Masters this year. I have so many wonderful memories and great successes here, especially having won this tournament 7 times. Hopefully I will see you again next season.”

The Serbian star did not specify the reason, however, international media believe Nole wants to focus his efforts on the 2025 ATP Finals. The 2025 Paris Masters will take place in Paris (France) from October 27 to November 2, while the 2025 ATP Finals, featuring the top 8 players, will be held in Turin (Italy) from November 9 to 16.
Djokovic also missed two ATP 500 tournaments this week: the Vienna Open (Austria) and the Basel Open (Switzerland). After being eliminated in the semi-finals of the 2025 Shanghai Masters, the 1987-born player needed time to rest and regain his best physical condition.
Besides Djokovic, Jannik Sinner is unlikely to participate in the 2025 Paris Masters. The Italian star is currently competing in the 2025 Vienna Open and will play his opening match against Daniel Altmaier at 10:30 PM today (October 22nd). After that, Sinner will have a long period of rest before entering the ATP Finals.
Sinner also announced he would not be participating in the 2025 Davis Cup with the Italian team: "I've won the Davis Cup twice. I've decided to withdraw from the Davis Cup because of the long season and I need an extra week of rest to start training sooner. My goal is to be in top form at the 2026 Australian Open."

The Italian team won the Davis Cup twice, in 2023 and 2024. This year, Matteo Berrettini, Flavio Cobolli, Simone Bolelli, and Andrea Vavassori are tasked with helping Italy defend their title in the 2025 Davis Cup, which will be held on home soil in Bologna from November 18th to 23rd.
In the 2025 Davis Cup, Ugo Humbert and Arthur Rinderknech will be key players for the French team in their first quarterfinal match against Belgium, which includes Zizou Bergs and Raphael Collignon. In the second quarterfinal, Italy will face Austria, which includes Filip Misolic and Jurij Rodionov.
Carlos Alcaraz and Spain will face the Czech Republic, whose players are in the top 20: Jiri Lehecka and Jakub Mensik. In the final quarterfinal, Jan Lennard Struff and Yannick Hanfmann, along with Alexander Zverev, will represent Germany against Argentina, whose players include Francisco Cerundolo and Tomas Martin Etcheverry.
