On February 18th, a delegation from the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi , led by Ambassador-General Marc E. Knapper of the United States of America to Vietnam, visited and worked in Tuyen Quang province.
Welcoming the delegation and attending the working session were: Mr. Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Hoang Viet Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives from the Americas Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ; and leaders of several departments, agencies, and the Provincial Business Association.

The visit of the US Embassy delegation in Hanoi to Tuyen Quang is significant as Vietnam and the United States prepare to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (July 12, 1995 - July 12, 2025) and continue to establish a new historical phase when the two countries officially upgrade their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace, Cooperation, and Sustainable Development on September 10, 2023.
Ambassador Marc E. Knapper expressed his delight at visiting Tuyen Quang for the first time, with its many lush, clean, and beautiful natural landscapes, as well as numerous historical revolutionary sites related to the relationship between Vietnam and the United States; especially the Tan Trao Special National Historical Site.
During the working session, both sides agreed to support the provision of English language programs, language training, and teaching methodology development.
Furthermore, the Provincial People's Committee hopes that the Ambassador will consider introducing suitable American business partners, exploring the province's geographical location, potential, and preferential investment policies to attract investment, based on the spirit of mutual goodwill, trust, mutual benefit, and sustainable development.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his sincere gratitude to the Ambassador and the delegation for their trust in connecting and facilitating Tuyen Quang over the years. He also hoped that the Ambassador would continue to show even greater interest in sharing and supporting Tuyen Quang in all areas of economy, culture, and society, especially in the development of education and the application of advanced technology in the digital age, in which the United States is a leading global power.
