A high-level delegation from the Australian Parliament visits the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex.

As part of their official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man , on the morning of August 25th, a high-level delegation from the Australian Parliament, led by Senate President Sue Lines, visited the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex.

Welcoming the delegation were: Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; and Mr. Vu Hai Ha, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly.

Welcoming the delegation were Comrade Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Tong Quang Thin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Standing Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; leaders of several departments and agencies; and representatives of Xuan Truong Construction Enterprise…

Comrade Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, presented flowers to welcome Ms. Sue Lines, President of the Australian Senate, and her delegation to Ninh Binh province.  

In her welcoming remarks, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh expressed her pleasure in welcoming the delegation to the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site – one of the prides of the people of Ninh Binh in particular and the people of Vietnam in general. She also expressed hope that the visit would help the delegation better understand the land and people of Ninh Binh, thereby promoting Ninh Binh's tourism potential and strengths to Australian investors and people, contributing to the promotion of the comprehensive strategic cooperation between Vietnam and Australia, meeting the aspirations and practical interests of the people of both countries, and actively contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, friendship, and development in the region and the world.

Australian Senate President Sue Lines thanked the leaders of the Vietnamese National Assembly and Ninh Binh province for their warm and cordial welcome to the delegation. Providing a brief overview of the Australian Parliament, President Sue Lines also highlighted several areas of highly effective cooperation between Australia and Vietnam, including cooperation on public administration and governance (PAPI). She also expressed her pleasure that Ninh Binh's ranking in this index is among the highest in the country (15th).

During their visit to the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, Australian Senate President Sue Lines and members of the high-level delegation from the Australian Parliament expressed their appreciation for the dedication, friendliness, and hospitality of the local tourism workers. They were also impressed by the outstanding global cultural, historical, geological, and geomorphological values ​​of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex. The delegation highly appreciated Ninh Binh's efforts in preserving and promoting heritage values ​​in conjunction with sustainable tourism development.

Comrade Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh and Sue Lines, President of the Australian Senate, visited the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex.

In particular, 10 years after being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site, Trang An has become a symbol of Vietnam's responsible commitment to implementing the UNESCO convention on the protection of world cultural and natural heritage; it is a model example worldwide of the successful combination of economic development and sustainable tourism. Preserving and promoting the Trang An heritage site also serves as a bridge connecting cultures between Vietnam and countries around the world for the goal and aspiration of peace, which has profound humanitarian significance.

Expressing her admiration for the scenery of Trang An, Australian Senate President Sue Line said it was also a wonderful highlight of her visit to Vietnam. She affirmed that the visit would contribute to deepening the Strategic Partnership between Australia and Vietnam, thereby creating a foundation for further strengthening cooperation in many fields between Ninh Binh and Australian localities.

Comrade Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, presented a commemorative gift, a cultural symbol of Ninh Binh province, to the President of the Australian Senate.

On this occasion, on behalf of the provincial leadership, Mr. Mai Van Tuat, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, respectfully presented Ms. Sue Line, President of the Australian Senate, with a commemorative gift representing the culture of Ninh Binh province.
