The Vietnamese National Assembly delegation participated in an exchange and cooperation program in the United States.

In accordance with the work program approved by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, from December 9, 2025, the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation, led by Deputy Chairman of the Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Hung, participated in an exchange and cooperation program organized by the US Congress.

During their time in Washington DC, the delegation held meetings and discussions with members of the US House of Representatives: Brian Mast, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee; Vern Buchanan, Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee and Chair of the House Democratic Committee; Lois Frankel, Democratic leader on the Subcommittee on National Security, State Department and Related Programs; Representatives Young Kim, Ed Case, and Ami Bera; and James Moylan, the House representative from Guam…

During the meetings, Deputy Chairman Nguyen Quoc Hung and members of the delegation introduced the innovations in the activities of the Vietnamese National Assembly and shared common concerns about the situation in both countries and the world .

The Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Congressman Brian Mast (Republican), received the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation.

The delegates expressed their pleasure that the two countries have established a comprehensive strategic partnership, and hoped that the relationship would become increasingly deeper and more substantive, for the benefit of the people of both countries. On this basis, both sides need to strengthen exchanges, promote parliamentary diplomacy, address global challenges and each side's interests, and find effective cooperation frameworks for legislative bodies.

US House Representatives highly appreciated Vietnam's development achievements and expressed their desire to visit Vietnam soon, contributing to promoting relations between the two sides. The US Representatives were particularly interested in Vietnam's healthcare development policies, especially the issue of universal health insurance and the construction of a grassroots healthcare system. Issues such as cooperation in demining and difficulties related to tariffs were also proactively raised by the US side during the meetings.

After Washington DC, the delegation will continue its work program in Nevada, learning about the workings of the legislature and the economic, cultural, and social life of the local community.
