In the spirit of mutual love, Vingroup Corporation announced to donate 250 billion VND to people affected by Typhoon Yagi and flash floods, spreading the meaning of community responsibility. The money will be allocated directly to emergency relief activities such as rebuilding about 2,000 collapsed houses, supporting 150 - 300 million VND for families with deceased people.
The remaining funds will be used to support families with injured members or those who have suffered significant losses to crops and livestock, as well as to assist in cleanup efforts and contribute to the reconstruction of essential infrastructure serving the community.
To share the difficulties with the people, VNPT has deployed support of 100 minutes of domestic calls and 15Gb of Data for VinaPhone customers in areas directly affected by flash floods and landslides in 10 northern provinces including: Bac Can, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Vinh Phuc, Yen Bai , Lao Cai, Bac Giang.
Throughout the period of the storm's landfall, in the directly affected provinces and cities, VinaPhone arranged for charging points at its stores to serve people until 10 PM each day.
Regarding credit, in order to promptly support customers to overcome difficulties and restore production and business, the State Bank requires credit institutions to direct branches and transaction offices to proactively review and summarize the losses of customers who are borrowing capital to promptly apply support measures and remove difficulties for customers such as restructuring debt repayment terms; considering loan interest exemption and reduction, and continuing to provide new loans to restore production and business after the storm.
To support people directly affected by Typhoon Yagi in many provinces and cities, VPBank will reduce the existing interest rate by 1% for medium and long-term loans and by 0.5% for short-term loans for individual customers with collateral at the bank, from September 13 to December 31, 2024.
To help customers reduce financial pressure and focus on recovering from the damage caused by the floods, Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TPBank) is reducing current interest rates by up to 50% for existing individual customers affected by the storms and floods caused by Typhoon Yagi.
Besides support policies, many businesses have started donating up to billions of VND. The group of banks, including Agribank, BIDV, Vietcombank, Vietinbank, MB, Techcombank, and VPBank, each donated 2 billion VND.
Similarly, the founder of Ecopark donated 15 billion VND in cash through the Vietnam Fatherland Front. This fund will be used to purchase essential supplies and support disaster relief efforts for people in areas severely affected by the storm.
The company also donated 4 billion VND to localities severely affected by the storm in Hung Yen and Hai Duong provinces, aiming to provide some support to help local people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
