A pair of dragons made from fresh fruit and flowers as offerings inside the Nguyen Temple.
Artisan Nguyen Thanh Nhan shared: “Continuously from 1994 until now, I have arranged to attend the death anniversary of Mr. Nguyen. As for the profession of creating mascots from fruits, I have been in the profession for over 15 years and have been tasked with decorating and creating dragons for many years now.”
The pair of dragons is made from fruits such as dragon fruit, pineapple, areca, chili, etc. combined with fresh flowers, creating a very impressive and harmonious "twin dragon" work. In particular, the flower selection stage is very important, it is necessary to choose the right type of flower to display on the altar, where many people pay their respects. For the pair of dragons offered at the Nguyen Dynasty's death anniversary, orchids were chosen as the main flower for decoration. On the body of the pair of dragons, the artisan also skillfully arranged them to create a curvy shape that looks very lively.
It took about 3 days to make the pair of dragons, with the help of many people. “With many years of experience, if I look at the overall pair of dragons and see any imperfect details, I will immediately detect and adjust them to create the most beautiful work to present to Mr. Nguyen,” Mr. Nhan shared.
