This year's event marks a significant milestone in health communication, honoring the enduring contributions of journalists over the past 35 years as they have accompanied Vietnam on its journey to combat the "pandemic of the century".
Launched more than three months ago, the National Journalism Award on HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control has created a strong ripple effect, attracting a large number of journalists from all over the country. The Organizing Committee received more than 1,200 entries – a number that demonstrates the enthusiasm, responsibility, and deep concern of journalists for HIV/AIDS prevention and control.
This year's competition not only brings together professional journalists from major media outlets, with meticulously produced works utilizing modern journalistic formats such as megastory, e-magazine, and long-form, but also features the enthusiastic participation of "non-professional reporters".

The authors and groups of authors arrived at the event early.
They are CDC officials in mountainous areas, village health workers, collaborators of local radio stations… These writers use honesty and simplicity, yet bring forth vivid and emotionally rich material. It's the breath of reality, the sweat and tears behind stories steeped in human kindness.
According to the organizers, this year's awards demonstrate a clear shift in media thinking. While 10-20 years ago, messages about HIV/AIDS often carried a cautionary tone, easily causing anxiety, today's media approaches the issue in a more scientific , positive, and humane way. Concepts such as K=K, PrEP, ARV treatment, and health insurance are conveyed vividly and easily understood, significantly contributing to changing community awareness and reducing stigma towards people living with HIV.

Immediately after its launch, the 2025 National Journalism Award on HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control attracted the participation of numerous reporters, journalists, and contributors nationwide.
