The ritual of lighting lamps in Indian culture, as well as in Yoga philosophy, implies that light, as a traditional lamp, carries profound meaning: it is the light of wisdom, mindfulness, and peace.
The lamp-lighting ceremony is not only the beginning of a sacred event, but also expresses the aspiration for connection between people, between the physical and the spiritual.
Following the ceremony, Dr. Mandala Tejaswi and the officials and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in a group yoga performance.
